dude that's old news; try the new one (PDK) on for size
you might like it and stop hating
as Colonel said "best car i've ever driven"

It did but it was a .1 w/tip and a gawd awful body kit; not that the kit matters. They used the 485 hp GTR which is a at least a 2010 if not a 2011 and an older .1 turbo <2009, not really fair. Try that against a .2 w/PDK; different ballgame -matter of fact different ballpark, altogether.
And, I really do appreciate the gtr's performance but when viewing the two side by side there is no (visual) comparison.

...
Not sure why the producers thought that was a good idea.
I don't think we needed yet another source stating that the GT-R is faster than a non-PDK Turbo.
I think they should put the PDK Turbo up against the GT-R. The only problem with that is EVERY enthusiast will cry about the 'improper gearboxes'. I think this was the worst comparison ever.
And 7 mph difference in slalom? Really? For cars as closely matched as this?
Like what was mentioned above - these are entertaining, and should be enjoyed for what they are. I don't know of anyone who would use this as a basis for researching their next vehicle.

A few things we took away from the whole adventure:
1) TV production is both expensive and tricky. It was so awesome live and so much of the fun didn't make it into the final show but I think they really did do a great job having been there.
2) The US Airforce. Wow... Just wow. Those guys are like clockwork and also real gear heads. Love those guys.
3) I'm super-jazzed that we got a best of 174.9mph in the mile. They did a few different runs but either way a stock GTR does around 165mph so at least we know we're making power. The car isn't aerodynamic but that's a good result.
4) Super happy that on the track section we were about 4-5 seconds quicker.
5) Paul Tracy is a hoot. Amazing driver and means what he says. No joke. Tanner is super-competitive too (as is Paul) and they really were trying to win it for each car. It was funny watching them try to ask the producers for another go and stuff like that....

!And too bad for the turbos but it was shot before the advent of the PDK sadly
