FVD Brombacher - Latest 997 GT3/RS Exhaust Development with Valves

I have been working hard lately to add a few needed exhaust solutions to our entire Porsche line up. Our latest development for the 997 GT3/RS & 997.2 GT3/RS is a logical progression between our race system with the RSR bypass pipes and our race system with the RSR center muffler.

Many of our customers loved the wide-open RSR bypass scream but wanted something tamer for track and street use. M&M have just delivered another addition to the arsenal that will be a perfect fit for many of our fellow 6speeders! It is a valved system with 2 distinct sound variations, is light, powerful, includes RSR tips and can be run with
stock software!!

“Brombacher” Race Exhaust System with valves for 997 GT3/RS with RSR style tips:

This system is shipping with the latest HJS cats, nicknamed “HD” for high durability matrix design catalytic converters. They have a SM-matrix (winding of three flat and corrugated foils) and a special connection to the matrix sheath, which equates to extremely high durability for track and street use. The added benefit is that they DO NOT generate catalytic efficiency codes (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) that most OEM Porsche programs (EU 5 software) generate with aftermarket cats.

SYSTEM FACTS:

- + 25 crank hp & + 18 crank torque with valves closed

- 200 Cell high flow, tri metal German HJS “HD” sport catalysts
- 2 3/4" tubing (70 mm) straight through design for max. power
- Equal length header set up with merge collector for maximum torque gain
- Weighs 37.2 lbs. (16.9 Kg) THIS IS THE LIGHTEST VALVED SYSTEM IN THE BROMBACHER LINE !!**
- 49.3 lb (22.3 Kg) saving’s over stock system!!**
- T 316 stainless steel for improved durability over T 304
- Includes all necessary clamps and mounting brackets
- Made in Germany
- 110 dB with valves open (Not for faint of heart!!!)
- 103 dB with valves closed
- Intoxicating growl at idle, partial throttle and wide open throttle
- No DME programming necessary

The Brombacher GT3 valved race exhaust gives the 997 GT3 a more pronounced, aggressive sound similar to the 997 RSR with the valves open and similar to a 997 Cup Car with the valves closed. Our exhaust is much less restrictive than the factory system and yields substantial weight savings in the rear of the vehicle. Our exhaust system produces an incredible sound that is pure Porsche!

For Reference:

997 GT3 OEM Exhaust Weight (Based on 2007 GT3/RS)
Stock primary muffler 22lbs each (44lbs total)
Stock secondary muffler and tips 20lbs
Stock headers and cats 11.25lbs each (22.5lbs total)
Stock exhaust system 86.5lbs total

FVD 997 GT3 Race Exhaust Super Sound with RSR style tips

Header & Cat =14 lbs
Center tips and hardware= 23.2 lbs
System Weighs 37.2 lbs total!!!
= 49.3 lbs lighter than stock exhaust!!!

Here is a link to this system on our online shop….

Oh no, this system is much more sophisticated than mine.
There are by-pass valves here which I do not have plus the rear center section is totally different.
My system is IMO pure rare race set up. One setting, loud.

Rhonda awesome work and finished product, of course as usual. You're going to force me even more to wanna buy another car. I'll tell my wife it's your fault.

very nice, only downside is customers would have to by your headers as well
because the cats aren't on the headers...so if i wanted to run stock headers, i couldnt just purchase the muffler system.

please correct me if im wrong.

if so, you should sell a muffler system that is the same w/ out the cats. Seems like a great idea that hasnt been done yet, so people could run it without changing the headers

Misanors4,

Thanks for the kind words. Here are pictures of the 2 systems....

Here is a picture of Rangers system:

Here is a picture of the new system:

Ranger,

Thanks so much! I am really happy with this set up and the first systems are now in stock in Germany and a few are headed to us today! I have a few more systems coming that are geared towards the U.S. market as well and I will keep everyone posted. Thanks again Ranger.

ZBoss,

It will have a similar tonal quality (with the valves closed) as the system you heard in person, but will be slightly quieter. With the valves open all hell will break loose and the sound is just pure GT3 heaven, no kidding. It is unbelievable how good this system will sound with the valves open.

This is what it will sound like with the valves open:

And from what I am being told this is close to what it will sound like with the valves closed, but will be a shade quieter. Obviously as soon as I have a video I will share an accurate representation:

Sammyrusso,

You are correct. The muffler section will not connect to the stock flange on the OEM header. Your point is noted and we will have something available very soon for that application, although these headers are extremely efficient and are made for mid range power. This system was designed to work together. Keep in mind that the company who makes these headers for us is the very same company that supplies CupS & RSR headers to Weissach. While factory headers are good, motor sports headers are excellent.

luiscarlos,

I would be hesitant to order it like that for you, due to the loss of back pressure. I know that you can run it with the valves closed through the inline mufflers but I am not sure if that will give you enough back pressure. I will try to find out for you.

^ thanks for the response. looks like a great system. I just thought it would be great if that muffler system could be run with stock headers, as you said that is something in progress. thanks
