Test Drove a 2011 GT3RS
I've got a 2011 with just shy of 3000miles on her now. The car, as you said, is nothing but amazing. I also have the luxury of some nice mountain areas near me to drive the car on, and again, it is nothing short of shocking on how the car drives. (And heck, its not bad at all on the local highway by any means). And, the "fun" is not even half there until you get the rpm's up into what can be descriped as a symphony of mechanical parts just working together so well.............ahhhh.........think I need to take up smoking so I can have a smoke because it was sure good for me!!
This is pushing me out the door to the dealer!
Your wording could sell them! LOL Can I ask you what options you got and how well the Front Axle Lift works? Did you get Adapted Sport Seats? I have the Sport Buckets in my C4S and standard seats in my turbo. I am just trying to rationalize why I should get rid of my 2009 C4S! It looks beautiful but the GT3RS has to turn heads when you drive yours!
Bob,

I know the Turbo has more power, but the ride and looks and the feel of the cars are too similar in my humble opinion.
2. The RS and the turbo would make a much better pair, complementing each other perfectly: The Turbo for the power and comfort, and the RS for tingling your senses and for honing your driving skills, and also for that much more flashy race car look!
3. If you choose to get a slightly used RS, and pick it up for around 120 to 130, the depreciation curve should be less than the C4S, so you would be upgrading the C4S to the RS for not much more money.
Cheers,

Noisy cabin, hard to listen to music or talk on bluetooth, wife doesn't like to ride with you, hard to resist driving fast around town, centerlock wheels are pain to change...anything else?
But thats all the good stuff.
This should be your rationalization:

Great that the wife doesn't want to ride with you!
My wife loves going for rides......especially our group/mountain drives....as I call them. (Even more fun with the Lotus group). Guess I'm kinda lucky that way, and usually she only asks "so how fast you think we were going" at the very end of the day........ plus she doesn't get sick when we hit the real twisty on/off camber stuff.
The axle lift is a great option for me, as the driveway has a deeper than normal rain gutter in it, also when entering some 1-off type off entrances, strange enough mostly gas stations. For someone that hits the track, the weight gain may not be to their liking (not sure what the weight is actually), and accept for that it was a nice option.
As for the cabin, as the others said if you are just at crusing speeds it is not nearly as quiet as a regular 997.2........ when you are stepping-into-it, all bets are off.
The seats are the stock/standard GT3RS carbon fiber/fold forward seating. I will say on those they are outstanding. Keep you in-place and more than fine for a long day's drive. (I'm thinking on one of our longer day-drives, 300miles, I feel just fine). The wifey does wish it had a small lumbar support area............so we just picked her up a small ittttty-bitttty pillow.
My cars prior (recent) were the 04'C4S which was a very-very cool car, the 360.....we won't talk about that mistake.....and the 09'C2S that was an outstanding car. Then this one........I can tell you without hesitation, there is no car you can put in front of me that would make me even flinch. That is how much I love this damn car.
As was mentioned above....... something on the more daily driver category, loads of power.... possibly the TurboS. If you want something where you feel like you're connected to the car and the road........more feedback/interaction....then the GT3RS or GT3. All outstaning cars.

thanks for the suggestion. I will check them out but the last time I looked the didn't have the one I was looking for. I'm guessing more may be arriving as it is still early in the year! If not, it wasn't meant to be! Thanks again for the suggestion.
LFC911KOP,
You can contact Geoff Isringhausen Jr at Isringhausen Porsche. They have access to one more changeable GT3RS for 2011. I just placed an order with him for a RS to be built in February.

I've got a Turbo and an RS.
I will echo others: your C4 is totally redundant with the Turbo. The Turbo, in effect, is a "super C4" in terms of usability. Works in the snow, works in rain, comfy seats, lots of torque, big stereo, happy cruising. All the same as the C4 but more. The RS is much less practical. No rustproofing, doesn't work in standing water, looks like someone went hog-wild with the Pep Boys option catalog. That said it is a modern classic which you'll want to keep forever.
Ditch it and get an RS if you have the ability to do so. Where is my Easy button.
