Clear Bra / Protective films on GT2 RS

I have a Black GT2 RS. I am looking for a way to protect the hood. Ideally I would like to keep the contrasting of the flat carbon vs the black body of the car, since I can think of a way of covering all the carbon on the car or really a need.

Is any one aware of an issue with putting a clear bra on flat carbon?

Would the satin finish clear bra keep the flat look of the carbon so the carbon that is covered (hood, mirrors) still matches the non covered carbon say from around the exhaust?

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else.

If I had a GT2RS, you can bet that puppy would have a full vinyl wrap. Why, my lowly 6.2GT3 has one. I love it. You could even make your car really stealth and wrap it with an image of a base Carrera or a 1978 Chevy Monza. Just wait to see the look in their eyes when you are on boost instead of switching sides on your eight-track player.

thanks - most of these materials are glossy. I have found flat / sating but want to see if it maintains the flat carbon look

Thumbs up I...

...was at XPEL today...

They were in the process of doing a front wrap on a GT2RS.

They have a film that does not change the appearance (flat/satin) of the carbon fiber hood and mirrors.

We used XPEL STEALTH to cover the hood. This is our matte finish paint protection film (not to be confused with matte vinyl), which provides protection just the same as all our other films, but has a satin finish rather than glossy.

The bumper and fenders got our newest film, ULTIMATE, which has yet to be officially launched. This film employs a new elastomeric polymer clear coat that has an incredibly low surface energy making contaminants that would normally stain or harm the film wash right off. In addition, the elastic properties of the clear coat cause light scratches or swirl marks to “heal” on their own when exposed to heat or UV. Adding these two new properties to the lack of “orange-peel” texture, and simple installation process make this arguably the worlds most advanced paint protection film.

You can read the whole article as well as see more pics here.
