2007 GT3: The Plight/Journey of the O.Z. Ultraleggeras

I purchased a set of ADV1s for my 2007 GT3 about 2 months ago for street wheels, but they will be arriving in end of may.

2 weeks ago I found a set of barely used (2 track days) 19" black O.Z. Ultraleggeras that 6speed member 6776 from texas was selling.

I always loved these O.Z. Ultralegerras since a-workx http://www.a-workx.com/strassensport...he-tuning.html used these on their porsches.

I purchased these and they arrived last moonday.

I then took them to my powdercoater at POWDERCOAT-IT in Sacramento, CA.

Mike, Steve, and Chris took care of me and were able to strip the wheels of the black paint and powdercoat them in RED.

Took delivery of the wheels last friday..... and went to my my tire shop - RADIAL TIRE OF SACRAMENTO (the MICHELIN distributor for the Sacramento area) and shod some Michelin Super Sports.

With wheels on

Not a big graphics guy, but just wanted to experiment.

Got the side graphics from Kyle at K1 studios - www.porschestripes.com

Here's the final outcome:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last on the exterior mods are painted side mirrors in guards red and RS wing.

So should I keep the side graphics, or take them off?

Thanx for your opinion.

Looks nice, good color choice.

Your powdercoat guy isn't a big believer in eye protection, huh?

Good post!
Thanks for walking us through the process.
The wheels turned out great.
I slightly prefer the car without the side decals.

looks great. i thought about buying these wheels as backup track wheels but it didn't made sense for me since my existing track wheels are 18". how did the powercoat job turned out. perfect? i'm thinking of doing the same with my 18" ccws. it's currently black. want to switch it to white to give it that rally wheel look.

i took my porschestripe decals off after 3 three years. not because it didn't look good. just wanted the car to look different in my eyes again. ha!

I like the side graphics. The car really comes alive with the graphics. Drive it around for awhile. You will get a lot of thumbs up.

SPEEDOFFLIGHT - powdercoating came out perfect!!!!!!! I know it's about 2 hrs away, but powdercoat-it is a great and professional place to get your wheels done.

www.powdercoat-it.com

Tell them John with the Porsche with red wheels recommended ya

LAWJDC - I get the thumbs up before I had the graphics, but I get more with them on.... I also attract more cops with the graphics on!!!!!! Lol
