2011 Radar Laser suggestions?

Ok read a lot of past threads and considering Passport w jamming vs Valentine1. Seems like V1 is better detection. Comments from experience?

Also anyone have any pics of how they installed the Passport unit's discreet display in the car. My installer suggested putting it under the radio in the storage space but I think that looks awful and takes up the only place I know to store my phone where I can reach it. Thanks guys.

V1 is the only one I really like. K40 = horrible. Had that one in last car. Passport is good, but no rear antenna. V1 is tried , true, proven etc. Do it once , do it right. V1.

I love my V1. I had a Passport up until about 2 months ago when I purchased the V1. I never really got the hype about the directional arrows but now that I have it I can NEVER go back. I makes a huge difference. I have had a few built-in units too but boy, now that I have the arrows I feel so much more confident while driving when the radar goes off.

Ihave the latest passport 9500 in my truck and a red line in my 911. The gps thing in the passport is flawless. No false alarms. If it makes noise hit the brake. The redline is more sensitive but that's it's purpose. Like both at ton.

K40 = crap

Oh I will never permantly install a detector again. The tech changes too quick. Escort has good upgrade program for their high end models. I seem to be upgrading every couple of years.

Yes. Hard wire so you don't have to deal with cord all over the place. Any shop can do it for $100 or less. Stealth install is too costly and really gives you no advantage. Makes updating hard as well

I have a V1 and Ive been lit up a few times now, all times I would have been busted if speeding. Your best bet is a laser jammer coupled with a V1. The vast majority of the times your detector V1 or Passport will be too late to notify you laser wise.

Just picked up a V-1. The reviews that it is the "chicken little" of radar detectors is true. It goes off quite a bit. But after a few days you quickly learn the difference between real bogeys and fake bogeys. The arrows make the difference. It's best on the freeway, no false signals, only the real deal. I hard wired it into both my 996TT and C63. Took less than a hour for each car. Really simple. Next up is a laser interceptor.

If your Lazer detector goes off, you just need to pull over. Lazer is a narrow beam and there is no question as to which vehicle is speeding or which one he is aiming at.

I have had my V1 for 4 years or so and have a 2nd in my DD. They are good, but nothing will replace common sense.

If the lazer detector goes off, they got you and the brand wont matter.

How about laser jammers? How do they work and are they effective?

"Laser Interceptor" sounds like the current "best" jammer available. I'm a fan and believe they work. I have the older Lidatek (now out of business) systems and they still work but like all tech the newer the better.

It sounds as if the Laser Interceptor system can be integrated into the Valentine unit also.

If you live in an area where laser is in use, you had better plan on a laser jammer/diffuser. Without it, laser detection is useless. I got bagged by laser and my V1 didn't save me. I got the Escort 9500ci to replace the V1, and so far so good. The 9500ci has equal or superior sensitivity to the V1 and has the advantages of GPS lockout of false alarms and concealed installation.

I thought the same thing until I combined a Laser Interceptor with my V1. Several times I've had my V1 go off due to laser (not false alarms as I saw the guy shooting it) but not the Laser Interceptor. If the guy hits a car in front of you it is very possible you can pick it up on your V1 first so don't just pull over, nail the brakes!!

The V1 has been around for ever.
Had some updates but you'd think its way beyond time for a complete redesign/update.
If they did, I bet it would blow all the competition away...
