Track day tire pressure - 2011 GT3 RS
Hello mates - well I'm heading to my first track day this coming weekend in my new rs. I'm running cup tires and I was wondering what tire pressure I should be running when hot and where I should set them cold. Thanks. I'll be at homestead speedway on sat the 4th if anyone else will be there come say hello.
your cold temps depends on the weather, and track temps. You can consider 10 psi less or more on the back and around 7psi or more, again, depends on the weather, and track temps. You could aim to 33 front (hot) and 36 rear (hot)
Did you get alignment and brakes done ?
Did you get alignment and brakes done ?
Thanks bud. As far as the alignment and camber. I haven't done it yet. I'd like to get it on the track a couple of time first totally stock before I make any adjustments; but I absolutely intend on it. As far as breaks I have a set of pagid yellows that I will put on before I head out.
there is no point to go to the track with the wrong settings, doesn't mean that you need a very aggressive alignment, it means that you need the car right. Also bleed your brakes and get good brake fluid for your own safety.
First time at the track, or first time with the car ?

First time with this car. I had a turbo that I was taking for the past year and traded it in for the rs. Been to the track about 15 times. Brakes were bled this weekend and replaced the brake fluid with rf.

Get that stock brake fluid out and get Pentosin or something with a higher boiling point.
Air pressure comment was spot on. I have Hoosiers, but I start at 25 all 4 corners and get to 35-36 at the end.

^Good answer. Tear that shiz up. Then when it's in your blood big, change tires and do camber around -3 front and -2 back and watch that beast come alive. Get em to lower it a touch as well.
I've become well aware of the list. The shop that works on my car pretty much works exclusively on gt3 and rs. Got a half cage, 6 point harness, and a windshield clear film all this week. Also got a sharkwewrks center bypass. Done about two weeks ago. And bought a set of used forged alloy 18s with dot hosiers. Suspension will hopefully get done before my next session on the 18th.
Ez there buddy just got the car a month ago and if I spend anymore money I may have to give up my mistress
)). Tune - if you mean an evoms software. 1500 for 10hp not worth it for me. I'm running a stock exhaust with a center bypass. I didn't wrap the car - clear bra in the front and a few other places. Cup car spliter what is that? Tow hooks seem like bad karma but I will get them when I really start racing and its required. For now I'm a weekend track guy...and I drive it on the street at least 3 times per week. But I'm sure it won't take long to make it a track car exclusively.
