997 GT3RS Cup Conversion w/ Formula 43 Wheels

Hello 6speed Forum Members!

Formula 43 wheel is new to 6speed Online and would like to share a few pics.

Some of you might of heard about this car being built by Cantrell Motorsport in Kirkland, WA earlier this year. www.cantrellmotorsport.com

This is car was delivered new with 3 miles to Cantrell and was converted to a street legal cup car.

Mods included:
Cup hubs/centerlocks
Air Jacks
Roll Cage
Fuel Cell
Decal Delete

Formula 43 RENN10C Centerlock 18" Wheels
9.0X18 +47mm front 12.0X18 +46mm rear, Clear Anodized (whole wheel)
Toyo R888 Tires

I'm most likely leaving a few mods out. Contact Colin @ Cantrell Motorsports for more information.

Enjoy!

Just curious what makes it a "street legal cup car" A cup car and road car are considerably different cars from engine, gearbox and electronics to many many other parts.

Not trying to call you out- Just trying to get the facts as I am curious how it became a street legal cup car..

We have a shop flooded with Cup cars and have converted many road cars to track spec..

Cool pics of the wheels by the way

So when does this bad boy see some track time? Action shots on track?
Going to Rennsport in Oct?

Yes! First set of 18" 997 Centerlock were installed last Friday. 19" Centerlocks will be available in (3) weeks. Styles available in 18" are the RENN10C997 (radial 10 spoke design) 18" and 19" RAD14 and RAD10 design.

Formula 43 prides itself on quick development and lead times. We manufacture as much as possible in house, including our exclusive German "Spin-Form" 18" and 19" AL6061-T6 rim halves. All manufacturing and assembly is done in our facility in Livonia, MI USA!

Again these new centerlocks were sold and installed by Cantrell Motorsports in Kirkland, WA. www.cantrellmotorsport.com

The blue GT3RS is a car that was recently discussed on 6speed. I wanted to hold off on posting photos of this car because the owner will most likely post comments to an existing link about the car soon. I know that he's enjoying his new GT3RS at a track in the NW right now!

Fabryce,

I shouldn't speak too much about details of the car as my specialty is wheels and again I'm sure I left out many additional mods the car had done.

Colin Cantrell can give you specific details as his shop built the car. You may know him from ALMS, Patron Cup, etc.

I just wanted to share some of the details because it is so unique!

BTW, the finish on the Blue GT3RS is our Stealth Black. We recently developed and tested this for our center sections. It features a low pressure blast to the center and then black anodizing. It has a smooth surface, easy to clean, just soap and water.

GMG is calling out Formula43 wheels.....!

I see the blue car has Goodyears on it...the sidewalls look a little buldgy....either the tires are extra wide or the wheels are real narrow...or both????

What size are the wheels and tires? thanks!

Yes, new Goodyear tires. Front is 245 and rear is 335. The rear tires are very wide. I would recommend a 12.5" or 13.0"X18 rear wheel for a 335 tire.

Really really like the 10 spoke design. What is the additional charge for custom colors?

Thank you for the nice remarks. We spent about 14 months developing the RAD and RENN series of wheels. We did not want to launch the new wheel line until all manufacturing methods were dialed in and the designs completed testing.

Standard finish options are Black, Clear or Gray Anodized center section with a mirror polished outer rim.

Gold Anodized Centers = $35.00 per wheel

Stealth Black Centers = $35.00 per wheel

Black or Clear Anodized Outer & Inner Rim = $95.00 per wheel

The Radial Ten Spoke is our most popular style for Porsche applications.

RAD10 Club Sport (no center cap) & RENN10 Centerlock Features & Benefits:

-10 radial spoke design aligns each spoke with a lug pocket.

-Radial 10 spoke creates a stiffer center section with minimal deflection while under load and impact.

-Rotary Forged AL6061-T6 Center Sections.

-Exclusive German "Spin-Form" AL6061-T6 Rim Halves, made in the USA. (Formula 43 AL6061-T6 inner rims are 2.0lbs lighter than some of our US competitors).

-MAS Military Grade Fasteners.

-Roll Formed Threads Equal 50% greater pull strength vs. conventional tapping methods.

-TUV Approved Metal Short Valve stems.

-SAEJ2530 Tested and approved. See our website for certificate and impact testing results. www.formula43.com

-Pricing starts at $845.00 per wheel for 5-Lug applications.

-Quick build times (944, 968, 993, 996 & 997 Porsche typically in stock ready to build and ship within 5-business days of placing an order)

-Manufactured and assembled in the USA, no exchange rates, duty/custom fees to be dealt with.

Feel free to contact me via PM, email: tj@formula43.com or call 734-432-0260 tel.

Also, check out our dealer section on our website.

Thanks again for your interest in Formula 43 Wheels!
