Just a quick update post installation.

I installed the Brey Krause Anti-Sub bars as per instructions prior to installing the seats.

After installing the seats, the 'Passenger Airbag Deactived' light would not shut off. After reading the DIY and getting information from Mikey about his install, I told Brumos Porsche about what I knew regarding resetting the seat config.

They ran through the reset 3 times with no luck. They could not get the AWS (adaptive weight sensor) to calibrate. They recommended removing the sub-bar, so I drove over there, removed the sub-bar, and the reset / calibration worked.

During the removal of the sub bar, I did {edit} NOT {/edit} disconnect the 3 connectors.

So, was it that sensitive during calibration that it expected a specific wieght? (I suspect not). Was it that a plug wasn't seated (no pun intended) properly without raising any errors? Maybe.

So after I knew everything worked, when I got home, I removed the two nuts that hold the seats to the rails and removed the washers and reinstalled the sub bar. I did not undo any of the electronic connectors. After doing so, I tested everything out and everything works well.

So my advice is if you are installing these seats, leave the BK Sub Bar installation until after you have the dealer recalibrate the AWS. Don't know if that is what did it... Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in.

Brumos was very patient and committed to resolving the issue.

Hope this helps someone who installs these seats.

Seats look good. I just didn't realize that they are that comfortable.

My overall impression after about 50 miles of driving is that the seats are extremely comfortable with regular seat belts. With the 5-points, I feel quite secure and the seats are still comfortable. I don't feel any need to adjust the back angle or height. For reference, I'm 5'10" 215#.

Installation was relatively easy. Disconnected battery, mounted all my belts/anti-sub bars outside the car. The Passenger Air Bag light won't go off (documented at the DIY section), so I have a scheduled appointment at the dealer mid next week.

The rollbar is the GMG RSR.

Looking forward to the next DE in 2 weeks.

How do you like that harness system?

Thanks for all the compliments. Between the RSS XPIPE and the seats, it's a totally different driving experience - for the better.

To avoid the CEL when changing seats....

Take the key out of the ignition!!!!!!!! That is all you need to do. Leave it out the whole time until done and then you won't get the dreaded CEL and you'll avoid the trip to the dealer.

I've done lots of times and it works great.

Good luck.

Thanks, Stu... Disconnected battery, and never put key back into the ignition until after the seats were installed and had all the connections in place. Telling you it's very strange.

It was just the AWS that wasn't working and didn't throw any errors up in the DME.

It doesn't make sense that it wouldn't calibrate the AWS with the sub bar in place. I removed the bar without disconnecting any connectors, and it was then able to calibrate. Since I didn't attempt to run the calibration myself before nor after the bar was removed, I cannot say for certain that the same exact process was followed. I will say that I trust the dealer and their techs - have had a great personal relationship with them for over 10 years and they've always done a great job.

Either way, it's now working properly.

Thanks, Stu.

Thanks to our original poster for sharing this with us, and to you others for your comments and suggestions. This is quite helpful to those of us that have been sitting on the fence.

Nice knowing these work with your body shape [same as mine]. I feared these would be too tight for me. BTW, I have what we commonly refer to as GT3 seats in my 6-2. They fit me, AND my wife, just fine. Only complaint about my present seats is that it is very difficult to put anything in the back [factory Technik roll bar also crowds things].Being able to fold the seats and make better use of the car is the goal for me, so the GT2 seats would help me justify using this car more. Now, the only issue is...the.. price...

Yeah... the... price... Tell me about it. But it's still cheaper than upgrading to a new 997.2 GT3 RS. That's how I justified it (to myself, at least).
