How is the seat for fitting with a HANS device in use?

The seat works fine with the Hans. I've run 3 events with it and no problems.

Thanks. I used a Recaro Pole Position seat with Recaro seat tracks in my 997 and would have to have extreme tilt back to get comfortable with my HANS device on.

I had no trouble with a 996 GT3 seat in my 987 Boxster w/HANS, which is why I'm thinking about getting the same model seats that you have installed.

Do it... Changed my entire experience. I'm 5'10" - 210 lb. And it's quite comfortable for me.

Some people say they have problems with the GT2 seats and a HANS device. I do not. When you wear the HANS, you will have to sit more upright than without it. However, the GT2 seat is fairly reclined to begin with, so the seating position ends up being about right for me.

Hi anotherswordfish,

Love your set up! In fact I have a 2007 997.1 GT3 which I have just installed the GT2 carbon seats in like you did. I also have a set of Schroth 6-point harnesses that have the GT3 eyebolts as used in the 996 GT3. Do you know if these will fit, or do I need new eyebolts sewn in? Do I need any additional hardware? The seats have a long bolt on the outboard side with a thick washer, and interestingly the regular seat belt is attached to this instead of the normal anchor by the door sill. On the inboard side it has a shorter bolt with no washer and the seat belt receptacle attached to it - which seems normal.

In the GT3 euro seats from the 996, it was the opposite. The long bolt with washer was on the inboard side and the harness slipped right in place instead of the washer. So for these GT2 seats, could I just reverse the bolts, and use the outboard longer bolt on the inboard side with both receptacle and harness attached as in the 996, and then just attach the harness and/or seatbelt to the door sill floor bolt on the outboard side?

Any help or tips with the specific placing and bolt and washer combination for your seat belt plus harness install would be VERY much appreciated. I'm also getting the BK sub bars.

Thanks!
-Christian

Thanks Christian.

Sounds correct on the seat belt mount items.

With regards to the sub-belt, if you use the BK Bars, you'll just wrap the belts around the bar (use D-Clips).

Got everything from Suncoast:

Hope that helps...
