The last two for certain are water-based as non-water based paints are being phased out and most newer cars have been shot with water-based paints.

I saw a photo of a 2.7RS compared to a 997.2 3.8RS both painted with the same color and you could see a difference between the water and non-water based paints.



This photo lets you see the difference. The above "Father" looks richer/deeper if you will than the son.

What ever color you decide to paint it, you should wrap it in this scheme for a year or so.
