GT3RS not a great everyday car. Heavy clutch, noisy. Great car but foolish to try to use as a DD.

napier is infamous around these parts
I wish I could afford either, but instead I am stuck in this miserable life where I cannot afford any luxuries. Oh well, I guess we all end up in the same place at the end. Good luck with your decision, either one is more then most will ever have.

Based on what times?

And is this because we spend most of our time on the 'Ring?

I don't know about that. CAR magazine just tested a bunch of cars on the track and the 458 even narrowly beat a GT2 RS on the track with a professional driver driving all of them.

I spend entire weekends at the track...

1. Ferrari 458 Italia - 1:37.80 (Autozeitung)
2. Porsche 911 GT3 (2011) - 1:38.10 (Autozeitung)

We could all bring up stats to back up our points. Nobody can deny that either of these cars are two of the best in the world (in their own genres). What I suggest is that the 458 is superior as a DD, and equal, if not superior, as a track car.

I don't think the Ring times are good comparisons because they are all done with different drivers on different days.

I believe the reference he used had the same driver HvS driving both cars...

I also thought this 458 was the rumored Ferrari with the mechanical issue (this is why I did not reference it).

agreed, that decision is a luxury problem, but hey, don`t give up on your dreams. remember:
the best things in life are free, anticipation is the best aphrodisiac and satisfaction is the end of desire.

so, your situation isn`t bad as long as u don`t give up on your dreams and desires!

Same driver - although it probably wasnt one of the factory prepped Ferrari's they release to the press . Sport Auto has the GT3RS quite far ahead of the 458. Worst case they are even. Quite a feat for the 911 that is over 100HP down on power and is a 6MT. No contest with the GT2RS.
