on most new SA helmets the holes are already pre-drilled with a little rubber plug inserted...remove the insert and installing the nutwashers is a piece of cake

Anyone have any leads on some lightly used gt2 seats? I understand Suncoast has them at a good price for new. Just a lot of money for seats. Thanks.

HANS Quick-Start-Guides

Here is the paragraph about installing anchors, seems straight forward on the surface...
A. Gently pry helmet liner away from shell using blunt instrument (fig. 6) and insert the nutwasher inside the helmet against the shell using a wrench. Align with hole. Insert post through cap, spring and base and screw into nutwasher. Tighten until the point of the post faces rearward.
B. Use a 7/16” (11mm) wrench to hold the post anchor outside of the helmet in position and tighten from inside (fig. 7). Tighten 1⁄4 turn beyond snug. The flats and slot of the post anchor should be parallel with the ground and the point of the post should face the rear of the helmet.

Thanks Geoff. Not sure I like the idea of prying the shell from the liner, but as long as it has the ability for adjustment, I supposed that's all I need to know.

Thanks for the vid, too! I assume it would be very difficult/impossible to score the inside of the shell with that piece as you're working into the drilled hole to the point where it would compromise integrity? Seems like that guy was really working that wrench and nutwasher with a good deal of force.

I have a gt2 which will be completed in days. I researching the possibility of adding slots for harnesses.

The only items to consider for me would be:

1. Identifying a reputable custom car/upolstry shop.
2. Identifying exactly where the airbags are tucked within the seat (if the are).
3. There are many choices of harness holes including custom made (I have access to machinery that will cut anything, any shape).
4. For those with a mechanical mind................ the sleeves to be inserted in the holes are merely two tubes of the correct shape with flanges on both sides (front and back of the seat). One "tube" (preferably the one with the flange at the front of the seat would be slightly larger than the sleeve facing the opposite direction).
5. This is NOT rocket science. Caravaggio Corvette maufacturers or better defined as coverting std seats to those with harness holes.
6. If you are of the right height and weight there is no reason the harness holes could not be added.

These are custom seats (with harness holes) mfg by Caravaggio (the work is impecable):

Very interesting idea. The gt2 seats are six grand plus at last search. I love the comfort and adjustability of my stock sport adaptive seat. Any ideas of a manufacture for Porsche? I would worry about the airbag issue and any implications to insurance and/or warranty. Thanks.

I heard Isringhausen Porsche in Springfield, IL can get you the GT2 sport buckets for 10% less than Suncoast.

Trollinger, I have these seats sitting in my office and this wold be a nice way to store and use them.

A few questions:

How did you attach to the base?

I would imagine that this setup is a little top heavy and can easily tip over. Can you elaborate?

I purchased a set of GT2 seats from Isringhausen a couple of years ago and at the time they had the best price. Nice people to work with.
