Need to get one within the next 2 weeks....still looking but is a GT3 suitable for icy Michigan? Or a turbo with AWD a better drive?

as a daily? in the snow? the issue would be more of a clearance one. There's weight over the driven wheels so traction would be better than say, an M3.

Yeah ground clearance will be an issue with snow......my concern too.

Don't flame as I ask this question in a GT3 forum.

I found a '07 Turbo less than 30k miles with an accident noted but checked out by Porsche with no structural or chassis damage. Apparently owner claimed that it hit a tree stump and cause the airbags to deploy. Price around 70k ....is it a fair price?

I would haggle it below that point. There are so many 997 turbos around compared with GT3's that they depreciate more. Look at 996 turbo prices for example...

I have a question for the experts. On a gt3 which is essentially a track car, how important is the type mileage on the car? Meaning if it has 50K of daily street driving vs. 30K street and 20K tracking. Does having a substantial amount of hard track driving influence the price in your opinion? I realize there's no real way of actually knowing or tabulating these uses but it did cross my mind.

Tracking does take a higher toll on components of the car, Brakes, clutch suspension etc....so IMHO a tracked car that has had >50% of it's life on a track would be worth less than a car that has had zero to say 20% track time, but who is going to know for sure how much? I wanted a street car so my logic dictated me to finding the lowest amount of mileage for my purchase. I also wanted a CPO for when crap does break. If you are just looking for a track car who cares right? Well maybe, maybe not. These prices for GT3s listed above also reflect people that need to dump cars(for various reasons), no CPOs, cars that have been wrecked and a terrible resale market. I do know that the resale prices on excellent condition, low mileage and CPO'd cars remains higher than these prices and that the value in 2011 is slighter higher than 2010. Excellance Maq also seemed to confirm this rise in price, and I hope the trend continues.
What ever you buy, high mileage or not get a PPI done. GLWP

wow, I'm assuming if it's in Canada, that car wasn't a daily so the owner must've driven it coast to coast during the summers or something! glws
