997.2 GT3 High 80s low 90s?
997.2 GT3 High 80s low 90s?
Is this a realistic figure? What is with the dealers asking outrageous money ($110k for 10k+ mile cars) for cars that have been sitting, and unwilling to budge on prices?
Can anyone offer some guidance on pricing for 15k 997.2 gt3 w/132k window and 24k mile 997.2gt3 w/137k window?
Manheim has the following data points on 2010 GT3s
07/21/11 CHICAGO Regular $97,750 2,790 Avg BLACK 6G 6 No
08/24/11 PALM BCH Regular $91,500 14,234 Avg WHITE 6G 6 No

Unless you have a pipeline into the auctions, I would expect dealer prices around a $100K and PP in the $90's, scaled based on mileage, options, condition, CPO etc. It will be interesting to see what happens once the 991's hit the ground. Still another 1-2 years befor the 991 GT3 hits so prices could stay firm unless the 991 is all that and 2 bags o' chips

For a 2010 you are looking around $105,000. -$115,000. I had been looking for months, and the prices fluctuate according to rarety of color, miles and options. You might get a 2010 for 100,000 but not many out there. A friend of mine ended up selling his car to a dealer and he got $91,000 for a 2010 GT3 but the car had an accident in the past. You might find this car out there for 100+k, but I wouldn't want to buy a car that was in an accident for 100k. That is just me.
Does anyone know what the cost is to CPO?
Also, does anyone know if this is a real car? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national
CPO is about $2500 for the warranty plus whatever it takes to bring the car up to spec (tires, brakes).
Not to state the obvious but, you know that car in your link is not an RS, correct? I've seen it floating around the for sale ads since I was looking for mine (Feb-Jun this year). Got to have stories is my guess.

Thanks for pointing that out and providing info on the CPO cost. I'm actually not looking for an RS, which is why I was intrigued by this car.
1. manheim is auction. just b/c we all have computers and can get "data" doesn't mean it has any bearing on pricing. as a manufacturer of certain things, i can get parts at cost but that doesn't mean you can or that i am willing to pass the price to you without a mark up.
2. dealer often charge more b/c they are a business and need to turn a profit.
3. there are only so many gt3 around and new one's aren't coming for a while. 4.0RS are $200k out the door, so comparatively any car on the mkt today is cheap.
4. now that said, if you are patient and look at private listing, you may be able to save some money, but sub $100k is not common, possible, just not common.
good luck in your search

You get what you pay for, the only GT3s that end up at auction are rats that have been beat to death. Not a good measure of retail value of clean one owner cars. Find the car you want and buy it. If the $5-10k makes that much of a difference you probably should reconsider the purchase anyway.
I also have been looking for either GT3 or the RS. It is nice to view the prospectives of others.
I think the economy has created shorter lines of people looking than the relatively short supply.
You can bet the 991 GT3 will adversely affect the 2010 and 2011 GT3s.
My plan is to decide what I want and to realize when is opportune to purchase.
Cannot use a GT3 up here in Wisconsin for several months while my shiney find depreciates.
My 2 cents for what it may be worth.

I have been seeing some dealers holding on also. They must really like sitting on stock ( i dont know but in my experiences with sales when things more out the door it makes me money) I expect to see some changes in pricing coming very shortly after the 991's get here. Although one dealer made it quite clear to me when i asked, He said He doesnt expect to lower the costs too much because the GT3 and RS are more of a special car directed towards track going/road users and they are not going to be getting a new version for a few more years. The 991 will only really be replacing the 997's carreras and so on. When the 991 GT3 comes out then the bottom will really fall out on the gt3 and RS. That's how I took what he said anyways. I may have been just dreaming my own reality but it cant be too far off
the current GT3 & RS prices should stabilized because the supply won't come again for at least 2 years. dealers don't mind holding them for stock now consider they're somewhat rare. next time for some room on pricing negotiation will be when the 991 comes.
I just looked at the prices of my recently viewed and they are infact raising. I guess they dont really care to sell them because they are rare.
I dont think the 991 coming will help negotiations on gt3 and rs

991 vs 997GT3 are totally different cars.
it's not a matter which car is faster or ....
a GT3 is a GT3, there are a lot of ppl simply will not consider a non GT3 car regardless of it's performance figure
now 991GT3 may change a few things.
however, if 991GT3 comes with 9A1 engine, the 997GT3 prices will not only firm up, but quite possibly rise.
