New 991 GT3 test mule??

Although a little bit grainy, here are first spy photos of the new Porsche 911 GT3 (991).
Despite being taken from a long distance, the photos show a prototype with little camouflage driving inside a private test track.
Distinguishing GT3 charcateristics include a fixed rear wing, two centrally mounted exhausts pipes in the rear bumper, new front bumper with lower splitter and what appears to be air vents at the front edge of the hood.
On public roads outside the test facility, spies also caught a GT3 prototype without its rear wing and aggressive front bumper fascia.
The current 997 generation 911 GT3 has been on the road since early 2006 which was followed up with a facelifted version in 2009. Specs include a 3.8-liter engine producing 441 PS (435 bhp / 324 kW). Other variants include the GT3 RS and GT3 RS 4.0.
The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 is expected to hit the market in early 2013.

+1
Looks great, but I heard more like 2014 late, maybe into 2015 early...Ryan, why did you say early 2013? Thats only a year away and would historically be waaay early for the model isn't it? You get some scoop?
"So long as they make" ???? Anything different would be suicide. Almost like saying "so long as Ford builds trucks" or something. I think Porsche will continue on that path forever, and the way it's been lately, we will get 20 plus variants.
Is it just me? I am just not that thrilled about the way it looks, regardless of the motor, suspension, handling, yada yada. Yea this is a spy pic...but I hope they rethink some things on it. The @$$ end of a 997 GT3 looks so much better IMHO.

looks good. i hope they put some cut outs on the rear bumper like the turbo or the 997.2 rear venting. I like the front bumper. Will be something when we can see some nice clear finalized shots.
