Should I?
Should I?
Hi all,
I have a 2011 GT3 with 6000 miles and Sharky bypass. Perfect. Bought it new and love it. I have a GMG WC roll bar, Schroth HANS harnesses, submount bars, and GT2 sport buckets in the garage all waiting to be installed. Car is mostly track nowadays since I can drive my C4S Cab all year round.
My question: should I trade it and get a 2010/2011 RS? Will it make me happier?...or will the money I save make me happier? I know I'm the only one who can decide that, but...
what would you do?

The differences between GT3 and GT3RS's are so few that I'd save the money and enjoy what is one of Porsche's best cars to date. If you do a lot of track days, then you can do a few mods that'll make your car handle quite a bit better than a stock RS and save a lot of money in the process, like some of the RSS suspension pieces. If you want to have a track only car, then as Vid997 said, invest in a used Cup Car and get some track time. But your GT3 makes for a great track car as is and with a few suspension mods can become a serious track weapon! Enjoy!!!

i agree, Just keep your car and add some mods. Maybe save a bit of money for track, tires and gas.
lighter flywheel
coolent fix
adjustable rear link / Toe suspension pieces and proper alighnment
maybe if you dont have to drive on street then go cup style or sharky trackpipe
3.9 conversion is an option with extra money
cup wing or something
Upgraded suspension coil set up
some track wheelset up wth slicks
data aquisition for your outings / video / data
you know the drill. Lots of choices and having money is never bad.
if you want to keep your gt3 for a long time then maybe an RS is more of a keeper car
but your gt3 is not lacking, you know this! Good luck with whatever you choose.

Your GT3 looks beautiful. IMO, you have the best color. Red is perfect on the GT3. The price difference just does not justify the switch. Install your mods and enjoy once of the greatest cars Porsche ever built.
This is just my opinion. If you are planning to keep the car for many year, then I would probably buy the RS. If you are planning on trading your cars every 2-3 yrs then stay with the GT3.
I gotta jump on this one! You have the perfect setup with the new wheels / tires - install the other stuff and track the heck out of it. Save the cash and get the 991 RS when it's available and sell me your .2 GT3 (you know I am always a generation behind).
Now for the C4S.........I know what you need to replace that when the time comes!
Looking forward to MSR the first weekend in February.
