Good time to sell 2010 in anticipation of the 991?

Now that I live in sh*thole Houston, TX, my GT3 basically collects dust in the garage. The roads are terrible and there isn't a decent road with a curve on it for at least 50 miles (this place is the armpit of the country). That all being said, I still plan on getting the 991 GT3 when it comes online.... (hopefully ill be living back in Newport Beach by that time)

Do you think now is the time to sell my 2010 or will it make much difference to hold it and wait on the new 991 and sell it at that time?

Thanks!

Yeah. Bail on it now. I got $75k burning a hole in my pocket to get that dump from your garage. Bring it to Dallas.

If it is just collecting dust, than sell it now.

All kidding aside, your manual (I repeat manual) GT3 may be worth more to some people. A GT3 holds value most all the time. Even with the 991 PDK coming.

You have a good point... and I'd definitely cry if I did sell it... I spent lots of time and effort (and $$$$!!) getting it just how I like it... I just can't stand having it in houston.

Do you track up in Dallas? I've been to Motorsports Ranch many times as well as Eagles Canyon... My Uncle belongs to Motorsports Ranch.. .

Please feel free to leave

First comment, there are some good roads within 15 miles of Houston if you head out West. A little further towards Austin and there are some great roads., but that does require a trip. Now I will admit that California has better roads outside of LA and certainly Nocal but hey come with higher taxes, horrific traffic, ridiculous housing costs, a bankrupt state, high unemployment and people like you who bad mouth anything that's not of California.

Happy to share with you where some of these roads are, but I strongly encourage you to consider driving out I-10 West and don't stop until you hit Santa Mnica if you really don't like it here. Texans are pretty friendly, but not if you bad mouth the place.

Hold on to your 997 GT3.

We have a lot of 2nd hand very low mile 991 for sale in HK. Something is wrong with the 991.

Please elaborate on 991 issue. People are not liking it?

OP: I know how you feel. I just got 2010 GT3... dont have much time to drive and even on the street, I feel that it is waste of gas because I dont have much road to rev it high. Im basically waiting for track days here in Socal.

Lower property taxes, didnt have a commute, own a house (still), Im employed, and I was actually born in Houston (moms family is from East Texas).

Lived in about 6 cities so far in my professional career (Im only 32) including places ranging from Charleston, WV to San Francisco. Traveled the country and much of the world already so I've seen a few places.

If you think Houston is that great, then you're definitely drinking the Kool-Aid.

By the way, nice RS.... think I've seen you around before as there likely arent many Orange around here.

Your GT3 sounds like a great set up for the track days. With all of your other transportation options the GT3 might be missed if you sell it. The 991's are still questionable especially a first run of the GT3's.

Sorry if I offended the 991, that was not my intention. But the GT3 he already owns is a proven and reliable track car. A bird in the hand?

I'd say sell it. I sold my 2010 GT3 w/14K miles last July for $95K. Got a 12 GTS. The prices look like they have increased a bit because there are no other GT3's available. Supply demand thing. When more info comes out on the 991 GT3 , it will probably be available in the summer of 2013 as a 2014 model, then prices will plummet on the 997 based GT3's IMHO. The 991 will be better/faster than the 997 version, you can bet on it. As far as getting a early release, they only make them for a couple of production years, for example 2010/2011 997's, ands there wasn't any difference. You aren't driving the car so unload it while you can. I'm waiting on the 991 GT3. It should be awesome.
