Will do. 6.0 not here until next week. I will be out of town when it arrives, but my 23 year old brother is taking delivery. My TT will have its new adornment after I get back into town and I will snap a few group shots. I need to update my avitar anyways. I also need to get a decent camera. My good one broke and this one takes shytty pictures.

I live in the DC area and there are 2 new CGTs available at 2 nearby dealers. Seems like they have been there for a couple of weeks. Amazing that this car has gone from 50k over list to invoice or below seemingly overnight!

I think this might have something to do with it. The local dealer, Hoffman Porsche, has had 2 Black CGTs parked nose to nose in their showroom for weeks if not months.
On top of that there isw at least one other dealer I have heard of sitting on two black CGTs as well....

Carrera GT is GT-2 deja-vu. Dealers gouged initially and landed a few big fish. That dried up quick and then reality is starting to set in: as good/great as it is, the # of people willing to spend just isn't there. With a car starting at 450 who knows where it can go, but 50% in 2+ yrs isn't unreasonable.

I have been very close to purchasing a 2004 or 2005 GT, but the continued drop in price has kept me on the sidelines. Most recently I turned down a brand new 2005 for $385k and a brand new 2004 for $365k. Some may think this is quite a deal, but at the fast rate of decline, most dealers won't touch a used one. If they do, you'd be lucky to get anything over $300k from a dealer.
I'll keep waiting to see when the price drop levels off and then jump in, as I was seconds away from signing a deal on a 2004 right when the 05s hit the floor and I thought $390k for a brand new 2004 was great. That was only six months ago, and the price on a brand new 2004 at a dealer has already dropped almost $30k.

Then I saw how cheap a 1995 355 was and convinced the wife if I bought a used 1995 Ferrari, I could get my childhood dream (the Lambo) for about the same price. Cannot say no to a childhood dream can you.

PM me. Many dealers are willing to take huge losses on these cars and it has nothing to do with more allocations. It has everything to do with the fact these cars are depreciating very fast!! THey would rather lose 30k now than 60k 6 months from now. They are actually making smart business decisions about cutting your losses on a high risk depreciating asset (or in this case and these prices, a liability).
Thx.

the car is a nightmare for most dealers now because everything has happened so fast they're not prepared. most dealers have extra GTs in stock because since there's no more 06 coming in due to legal issue Porsche has to produce all the US dealer allocations before the 05 production year ends. the problem is simple to understand just depends on how you look at it.
