Holy S, this brand new CGT I am with sold for less than $400k

This CGT has been sitting at my dealer for about 2 weeks because the original buyer backed out before delivered. I actually inquired about it because of deal potential, but Porsche would not lease or balloon.

The buyer told me that he paid $ 398,000 and that a deal for $ 422,000 (sticker was $ 448,00) was rejected by buyer and buyer ended up getting it at wholesale of less than $ 400,000.

The car has 20 miles on it. Gorgeous car. Porsche made too many.

Brand new 2005. 2 weeks old and just delivered. 20 miles. This dealer sold its allocation pre delivery last year.

Am I the only one surprised by this or have you guys known that they have been not selling real well lately. I was amazed they could not even cut a deal where they made profit. They had a couple of potential buyers from California, Lousianna and Florida. I can understand the car not selling in my peon town, but nationwide. Selling at WHOLESALE???

I wonder if color-black-has anything to do with it. There is one at Ruznak that's been there for awhile now. Anyway..in a year, I predict that car will sell in the high $200's. That is a steal for that car!!

I thought it looked cool in black. In fact, I think I would prefer black. I really would have considered this car, but I just bought a Diablo 6.0 and would have to sell it, my TT cab and my 355 to buy it even at $ 400k. On top of that, no lease and a $ 12k a month note. Hell, I got 144 months on my old used 2001 Diablo.

how would u expect a 448,300 car to sell well? not the case especially this time. for our car guys it's the time to steal it. most dealers don't own the car & have to pay interest on it every month. not surprised if they want to lose less now than later.

Doug,
if u really want the car why not go through 3rd leasing company than Porsche?

Arling:

I know. I am somewhat tounge in check and realize I had other finance options out there if I went on my own looking. See above post why I really didn't pursue it. I just bought a 355 a couple of months ago and I have a Diablo 6.0 coming next week. My wife would hurt me, and I mean physically, if I tried to buy another car right now.

Here is what happened. Wife said I could get a 360 spider. I started looking at them and thinking well, not sure if I like the looks much better than a 355. Just knew I wanted a Ferrari. Then I saw how cheap a 1995 355 was and convinced the wife if I bought a used 1995 Ferrari, I could get my childhood dream (the Lambo) for about the same price. Cannot say no to a childhood dream can you.
