When this customer decided to get a new daily driver, he had a few requirements in mind. First on that list is that it could double as a track toy whenever he wanted to go out and play over the weekend. Second, the car needed to be challenging. Third, it was time for a Porsche. In our opinion, he couldn't have picked a better one. The 2011 Porsche GT3RS matches all his requirements and offers so much more as an excellent bonus.

Once decided upon and purchased, he immediately brought it to us. He'd need some basics to start forming the GT3RS into his ideal vehicle, for on and off the track. To start with, an exhaust, software upgrade, pedal covers and a fire extinguisher mount for added safety, just in case of emergencies. So off to work we went.

The Exhaust

For the exhaust, the main thing was weight reduction. Replacing the stock exhaust with this center section from GMG was a great fit, helping to cut down over 20 pounds of weight while adding a deep aggressive exhaust note over the stock system.

Fire Extinguisher Mount



Now this is an often overlooked but very, very important part of an track car build and even street cars could do with one of these. As Rennline puts it, "there is no worse feeling than watching your car burn to the ground without the ability to do anything about it." There is a lot of truth in that statement and while we all would love to never have to think about it ever happening to our cars, there is always the possibility. Better to be safe, right? This is one style of mount and its a smart one. This puts the extinguisher within very close reach, available at any given moment, should you be faced with the emergency. Such a small part, but such a great investment in the security of your beloved car.

This part is designed to mount to the top side of the sliders, allowing the extinguisher to move with the seat.







And with the ECU upgrade, the GT3RS is finished...for now. Last time we spoke with the customer, there was an all new list. So be sure to stay tuned for the next round of updates. We're sure they'll be pretty awesome.
