I run straps designed to attach to the wheels. I also put terry towels between the straps and the wheel surface.

Run the rears directly back and cross the front. I have to have the car all the way to the front of my trailer to balance the effects of the rear engine.

Trailered the GT3 1400 miles on a Penske Trailer with not one problem. Removed the front lip, used four straps to hold it down and the car didn't move one bit. Had to use some custom made ramps to get the car onto and off of the trailer.

Sweet... That first 100 miles or so is a bit nerve racking.. You are always wondering with every creek and sound. After that it's typically hammer down.

I use Race Ramps on the end of my trailer ramps. With them I can drive directly on trailer with no wood construction company on standby.

Here are the ones I have. They are really handy. And no, I have no affiliation with race ramps...

I just bought and drove my GT3 from Houston, about 1200 miles. It was a fun drive, from Houston to New Orleans, stayed overnight, then blasted straight down to Miami. Late night I hit up to 140-radar detector was a plus, though I got lucky with 2 troupers, it never registered and I could have got caught.
But no one was doing less than 80-90 mph the whole trip so bumping it up to 100 was very common-
Did renting the trailer/truck cost a lot?

Best,
JB

When i purchased GT3 I used my trailer to avoid any "Murphy's Law" event.. Had to get back to work to pay for car.

By the time you rent trailer, pay for truck getting 10-15 MPG it is cheaper to drive... Just have to figure cost of operation GT3 by the hour.

BTW, Audi Q7 Diesel with car on trailer rolling 75-80 still gets 24 MPG highway. I would imagine the new Porsche diesel will get better results... A bit smaller truck..

I had to rent a truck no choice since I was moving furniture and had to trailer the GT3 since I had another vehicle to drive back as well...

All worked out well and not one issue in the 1400 miles.

Takes two days it's 1400 miles and about 19 hours driving time. Could do it in one day but choose not too. Not the first time I have done this trip...

Anyone use a Panamera S as a tow vehicle?
Anyone bought the disappearing European Panamera Tow hitch?
