Question About Trailering GT3

Anyone ever had to use a trailer from U-Haul or Budget before to trailer their car? Just curious if the GT3 will be able to get onto the trailer or will I have to use boards to get it onto the trailer. Please let me know! Thanks!!!

hook the trailer to the vhicle and then lower the trailer landing gear as far as you can. this will raise the front of the trailer making the rear angle less steep. go slow and easy. the hardest part is the rear engine car should be backed on for better weight distribution. its not easy with a wide back end!

Used a bunch of boards on my uhaul trailer a few years back when my coolant plugs gave way 200 miles from home. We backed up the trailer to keep the weight up front if trailer to avoid the wag. Not ideal and wouldn't go this route again.

You will need plenty of wood to build up the ramp.. Or pick up a set of "Race Ramps".

I trailer my cars all the time. The GT3 is by far the lowest to get on.

I will look at the trailer tomorrow and the car and see what I decide to do, getting the trailer from Penske. I know I will need wood to make a ramp to get the car onto the tailer.

Anyone ever drive their GT3 a long distance?

not sure what you consider long distance... I don't think I have ever driven more than 200miles at one time in my Twin Turbo or GT3. That's why I have my Audi Q7 TDI with a trailer....

I suspect I will now get hundreds of comments on how these cars should be driven...

I guess the way I view it; I base it on operating cost per hour. I can pull with my crummy old Dodge, or Q7 and the cost to operate are about 25% of what it would cost to drive the GT3.. Based on Tires, fuel etc. My Q7 gets almost 30MPG pulling on my aluminum trailer and is 2x more comfortable than the GT3.. Anyways Just my 2 cents...

I see Serge944 (rennlist) used a U-haul trailer and noted that it works very well with some 4x4s and x2 boards for a narrow-body GT3. To view his thread Click Here. Just saw this and thought I would pass it along to help.

Thanks!!! Looks like he didn't even take the front lip off either.

If I have gotten my Z06 onto an open carrier before and it was super low almost slammed, I should be able to get the GT3 on the trailer. I did have to take the carbon lip off of the Z06 because there was no way it would clear.
