Please be warned on the BAD way they treat their clients. And I have been a long time client who has ordered numerous times.

I bought GMG headers and wanted a reflash for a 4.1L engine. My car is a 997 GT3 RS. Fast forward, I wanted my local tuner to do a custom tune since my fuel and weather is different. I needed my ECU back in stock form. No they said it couldn't be done. That my ECU was tampered and that it was blank and couldn't be communicated with. I said this was a LIE since my car was running FINE before I shipped the ECU. All I wanted was it it to be put back to stock OR pls give me my stock map in CD form and I would do it. Why lie about the ECU being blank? The original map is my property right? I now will buy a stand alone ECU (Motec or something else)

This is a BAD way to treat clients. And this is after I have bought lots of things and have always promoted them. Deal with them at your own risk. I needed to share this.

 

There are some details missing from your story.

Where did you send the ECU? Did your local tuner attempt to flash the ECU before you sent it back?

 

Nothing against GIAC, but that what I like about Softtronic, plug it in upload the tune , you don't want it anymore plug it back and upload the old one. I had a great experience with it.

 

If our original flash were on the ECU, we would have no problem returning it to stock form. We do this frequently for customers when they are selling their vehicles. This is the first I have heard of your issue, but I would be interested in hearing the whole story via PM.

Dear all,

I am HAPPY to report that GMG was able to re-flash my ECU back to stock.

Apparently the tech thought my car had a 3.8L engine hence they couldn't communicate with it.

I am so happy there is a happy ending.

 

GMG has been a strong contributor here for quite some time and has a very good reputation, I'm glad it all got sorted out for you.
