So my dealer just called me...

And has an allocation with my name on it! Woo Whoo!

I'm going to head to down to the dealer next week and do a build.

What are the must- haves? What does everyone recommend for options?

Is there anything that I definitely shouldn't get, (sports chrono)?

Try out the buckets before you take the plunge. They are similar to the 918 seats. Those who have tried them (in a 918) have commented that they are great for the track but harsh for longer journeys. They do look terrific. Its really about what you plan on doing more with the car.

IMO:

- don't bother with Sports Chrono as there is NO mechanical advantage associated with it. The dynamic engine mounts are standard on the GT3. If you plan to track a lot and need the timing device and functions there are 3rd party apps that are cheaper.

- The Lift... this is a controversial one and it entirely depends upon your location and the type of driving you plan to do. I wasn't going for it until I saw the construction and positioning of the front splitter. It is mounted directly in front of the structure of the main bumper. Unlike the 997.2 GT3 I had, where the splitter had nothing behind it and was easy and cheap to replace, lower front damage this time around will most likely result in a splitter and bumper mess! I now have it on my order.

My spec is listed on my sig. Make sure you have the commission number and official Porsche build schedule from your dealer.

Congratulations!

Paint to Sample if cost is acceptable. If not I would get Sapphire Blue from the standard metallic colours there is enough black and white cars already.

The Light Design Package is meh and the leather steering wheel replaces the alcantara wheel. You sure you want to do that?

I like leather more than alcantara. I've been reading that ppl say that the alcantara wheel wears early.

^ agree with RossL.
The light design package is a waste.
The alcantara wheel has a great feel and despite concerns over it getting worn or dirty is worth getting. Btw, there are many ways to keep the wheel in pristine condition.
Also consider the Net in Passenger and smoking package.
What color are you opting for?

I was thinking of going with the flow and am leaning toward white.

Great point on the smoking package. Get it! The default just puts an open square in the center console that is absolutely useless. I have it in my current 991S and hate it. It doesn't fit anything. The smoking package puts a covered outlet there instead so it at least serves the purpose.

The GT3 looks amazing in white. It was my first choice as well. I chose not to go with it because it's too popular for my personal taste. I don't see anything wrong with the popularity, I just like to be a little against the grain. For example, does anyone complain when they see a red Ferrari? No, but I still purchased a black one

The front axle lift is a must for steep driveways entries, etc. I know many GT3s are white but I went with it anyway b/c I don't expect to see many, if any, others on the road, and the car looks fabulous in it.

someone mentioned paint to sample... that's not going to happen... ask me how I know...and trust me that I took this way up the flag pole, no more paint to sample on gt3s at least through February...

I am a November build. I agree that everyone has white and I tried hard to make myself like something else. However, I just don't think any of the other colors look as good. I also think that is why Porsche AG launched it in white everywhere.

My build:
- White, Standard wheels, PCCB, Sport Buckets, Carbon Fiber, PDLS, front axle lift (this is a must in my opinion)

Items I am still on the fence about, but probably WONT do:
- LEDs, a little gimmicky to me for a GT3, also I think when on for DRL, you cant see the front of the car as well, seen them on so many Panameras that I think it ruined it for me. But I know its the latest technology and I am tempted.

- Full leather, yes I know it looks great in Ferraris and Porsche turbos, I just feel that it doesn't match the character of the GT3s as well, too luxury, too overdone with all the stitching, etc.

- Yellow seatbelts, seems everyone does this with PCCB, but seems a little clownish to me, again, upsetting the business like interior of the car.

What do you guys think about my 3 items I am on the fence about. My spec ability locks very soon, so down to the wire on finalizing.

White will be phenomenal! You get what you're going to be happy with. I have reached one conclusion with the GT3. It looks great in almost every color.
Oh! GT Silver is of course the fastest!

1From the info I've had, the boat for pts has sailed and therefore agree with you.

2Agree that the technology is tempting. It is a pricey option and IMO does suit the car...but then again pdls looks great as well. I wouldn't go led but only because there are other options that tempt me more.

3 full leather is awesome and more alcantara and stitching on the GT3. It actually does make the interior more plush and yet keeps the sportiness of the car. I really like it and would go for it...in fact I have.

4I wouldn't say its clownish. It may not be your preference but each to their own mate. I forgot to spec silver belts with my full leather silver stitching. I think it would have looked good. Anyway back to your spec, I think black belts are fine on your car...it's what I would have chosen.

I've since added sports chrono, auto dimming and illuminated door sills. Somebody stop me... Lol.

I have a couple of weeks to lock it down though.

Also thinking of switching to jet black or agate grey.
