New stablemate for the GT3.
New stablemate for the GT3.
New stablemate from across the pacific for the GT3. 5.0 liter V8 467 hp. Drinks gas like there is no tomorrow, but the nice V8 rumble and exhaust note makes up for it. Pretty quick and compliant ride for daily use in LA traffic.
Congrats, but man I think Lexus IS going the wrong direction with design on the latest models.
Btw, that looks huge compared to the 991, which is large in its own right compared to the 997.
How much does it weigh? 4000+?

Its actually smaller than the picture would suggest. Its definitely smaller than the GT3. I take terrible pictures. The car is definitely heavy. It tips the scales at a over 4000 lbs.
That thing is not only ugly but it will be dated by the time the first model year ends. Interior reminds me of a 1990 Maxima. Just sayin.
Btw- Your 991 GT3 looks sick.
Enjoy

Lol, at all of the negative comments about a non-German ride.
Your RC F is gorgeous as is your GT3. I picked up an Orange RC F a few weeks ago.
The RC F is awesome, especially for the money. Since the early 90s, I put about 200k miles on a 94 turbo, a 993tt, a 2001 996tt, a 2003 996tt, a 2004 996tt cab, a 997tt cab and a Panamera turbo all used as daily drivers in addition to owning a few nice Italian stable mates for the weekend duties. I raced various G3 cup cars throughout the years before getting the 430 Challenge.
I can say without a doubt the RC F hits the mark. Great fresh looks that gets much more positive attention than my turbos did, roomy back seat, great and comfortable interior with high end look and feel, awesome engine with linear power and great performance that never fails to put a smile on my face.
The RC F actually drives, feels and handles very comparably to the feeling of the 996tt and 997tts. Amazingly similar.
Don't hate, get out and drive one. I bashed the Japanese cars for years and never thought I would own one. Props to Lexus for making strides and trying to rebrand its image to appeal to a younger market.

Amen.
I attended a Lexus event at the Fontana speedway when the RCF was launched and was able to properly ring it out on the racetrack and was very impressed. Looks are subjective and for me, the RCF is very color sensitive.
I've owned a lot of cars from a lot of manufacturers and I'm not ashamed to say that if Lexus had offered a manual transmission in their ISF I'd be driving that instead of my E90 M3. The driving dynamics of my BMW are just slightly better than the Lexus but the overall quality, build standards, reliability, etc. of Lexus is SUBSTANTIALLY better, at least in my experience.
To the OP - congrat's on the new purchase. Many happy, safe miles.
To the haters... come on guys, as car enthusiasts shouldn't we be above brand snobbery and realize that a good car from ANY manufacturer is good for all of us?

As to reliability for the RC F, we shall see . . . I am driving mine like I stole it as I drive all cars. I am curious if the drive train it will hold to such abuse. I have replaced the Toyota made transmission in my 2006 Elise 3 times and the Toyota made engine once, but that car is a dedicated track car (Lexan window, carbon fibre shell, stripped out and etc.) and that tranny had abysmal problems with the second gear synchro.
Nevertheless, I think there is something like a 6 year drive train warranty so they must be pretty confident in the drive train.
When it gets down to it, it's not good enough to overcome the poorly designed software. The comparable BMW with iDrive is just far more pleasant (not to mention driving better). I forgive the Porsche system because nothing comes close to the driving experience.
