Alcantara interior

Have a 996 gt3 and sometimes I get envious of the 997 interior. The 996 has too many pieces and just like in my old 996 c2 I feel like it's cheap plastic. I would like to have my dash finished in a one piece alcantara trim such as the RS 4.0. My question is, is that too cheesy/dumb or even a waste of money?

Do as you please. If it looks good to you by all means go for it! But I would not do JUST the dash, that would look odd.

That being said, alcantara looks nice, but wears poorly. I've switched all my alcantara pieces that I touch too often with leather - steering wheel, shifter, e-brake.
