CGT owners

have u experience a drag & hear a humming sound from ur E-brake when car's moving below 10mph when giving gas (rolling)?

i believe it's coming from the brake but can not confirm. is this a single case or any of u have experienced this?

I don't recall hearing anything like that in mine. Maybe just an E-brake adjustment?

Mine doesn't make that noise either, take it to the dealer it may need a litttle adjustment.

Arling, when I test drove a CGT recently, I noticed a grinding sound coming from the rear at low speeds...almost sounded like an old differential grinding...the salesman said "they all do it"

well, do they all do it ? can the CGT owners out there chime in as to whether the car makes an odd chattering sound at low speed ?

Is this the clutch grabbing ?

thanks

i believe u're referring the clutch sound. if that's the case yes all CGT do that as the racing light weight clutch & flywheel is the reason if i'm not mistaken.

the sound i'm referring to is more related to the rear wheel & brake area. it's coming from there since the sound follows the rotation of the wheel.

Arling and RufMD,

Arling is right that the noise RufMD is referring to is totally normal and happens in every car. Nothing bad happening there at all.

Arling, can you give me more information as to what is happening if possible. I'm a little vague on what you are experiencing. Is it every time? Etc. Does it happen if you roll from a stop without giving it any gas (letting the car move itself...etc.) I will try to look for what you are talking about. Off the top of my head, I've never heard the sound you are describing.

The noise you are hearing is more of the gearbox and not the clutch itself.......... It is normal we have several CGT's we maintian and they all do it.. Although we do have a 04 car that it seems to be more noticeable than others..........

This is exactly what we have found with our customer CGT's. I have noticed it more when turning in our parking lot at low speeds.

I'll pay more attention when moving them around. I have a CGT on the schedule for next week (Wed.). I noticed it again just today when I was moving one around. It could be the composite rotor rubbing against the e-brake pad.

Does it do it warm? When I deal with the cars they are typically cold.

Arling,

I think I may have notice the sound as well while parking and reparking the cars. If sittin on the drivers seat, in which direction should I be hearing this noise? I have 2 brand spanking new 05's CGT's inbound for filming soon. Make that 3 CGT's if you come over to visit the shop again with yours

Happy Holidays!

Arling I think you probably need a rear caliper adjustment. Mine doesn't make any niose like that but I do know one person who seemed to need the rear caliper for the e brake loosed just a touch. Check into that. His car was an early 04. Hope it helps.
