Im keepin' mine(996 GT3)
Redduck,
My 3 will toast a stock TT,,,and slip by an S.... Silve has a PSI 480 TT, And he can get out front, but then my three hangs on like grim death
Jim.....more in common than you think. We will decide on Silver gray/tan or T Silver/gray.....Got sport package, premium sound, heated seats, rear shade package, rear passenger side airbags, Nav, and active steering......Looking forward to the car for sure

so 0-60 and 0-100 times are better on the 3 then a turbo and turbo s..
Is your 3 stock, 381 hp at the crank?
I would think the turbo and turbo s would pull harder from a stand still bc of the raw power and the max torque from 2700 - ~4500 rpms..
DO you get the same neck jerking feeling with your 3?
reason i've asked is that i'm getting the itch and might consider trading in the c2 for either the 3, turbo or 997s all within my price range..

A stock TT is fast, but my car pulls harder. I run with two modded TTs, Silvers and a Modded TT cab, I'm faster than the TT cab. For pure driving experience, nothing like the 3.
REDDUCK it all dependes on what your using it for.tt =ultimate street machine-too soft for the track,gt3=ultimate track car-too firm for everyday driving,997s(w/sport chrono)=a little bit of the best of both worlds.
Ive heard that the 3 is too firm and hard to drive on the streets but i've never driven one. How bad could it really be? I plan on doing a few DEs but nothing crazy. Would I be miserable in the 3 for daily city driving? I really need to test drive all 3.. Any volunteers?

Redduck,if you're going to only do a few DE's it's not worth the trade off of getting the GT3. it is too low for everyday driving.you have to pretty much plan your day around your car,low driveways, bumpy streets etc. even thought the 3 is a great car.i wouldnt recomend it if you plan on using it more as an everyday driver.

And damm i thought i was getting away from the biased BMW boards.. I doubt a GT3 is toasting ANY turbo, sry

Then I'd say you haven't been to the rodeo much. I've yet to find a stock TT that will take my three. I'm damn close to tree 500hp TTs I've run with, no I can't out run them, but I can hang on to their tails.....
I made the ULTIMATE test for the DD GT3.
I made it up into the foothills of Santa Barbara to my family prop.
I was really worried about it, becuase of narrow roads and big bumps and dips.
I flew through it all, my car is lowered from factory settings to.
Mind you there is a bit of a storm now so when I go out I think I wall take the X5..lol
Also the drive from OC to SB was great and on the 405/101
2 hours flat! Best time ever. (on a friday mid day)
I just have to get used to the looky loos taking pics and videos from their camera phones.

Been away fro a while so I thought I would reply to the TT Vs. GT3 piece.
From personal experiance the Gt3 is faster to 100 than the TT, after that it is fairly even until about 120 when the TT just pulls away.
To 100 it is not just slightly faster it is a LOT faster, surprised the hell out of me and my pal in the TT!
Keep your car. It is a modern day classic.

I get the same feeling driving my M3 on the autobahn. I wake up in the morning, grab a cup of coffee, drive to the autobahn, and accelerate from a near stand still to 140+ mph.

I get into my 997S at 5:00PM in Santa Monica and drive to Los Angeles in an hour and a half. Going back and forth from neutral to 1st gear over 100 times at an average speed of 3mph. Nothing feels better.
