Strange GT3 question... hear me out

Just wondering if anyone has ADDED rear seats to a GT3? I know it's a weird question for a high end car, but I love the flexibility in a turbo to have a kid hop in the back every now and then. I just love the GT3 and would love to get into one, but a strict 2 seater really limits my use of a car. I'd love it, but I wouldn't get to drive it nearly as much.

Anybody?

I’m not aware of anyone who has done that. I can also pull up my rear carpets and look but if the seat belt connections points are there then it should not be a huge deal. You might want to check a more active GT3 forum...

I'm contemplating doing the same, my daughter is only 6 and 38 pounds, I'm looking for a child seat (not booster seat) that has integrated 5 point harness so all I'd need is to latch onto the existing anchors (I assume the bottom ones are there on all cars and the top ones are readily visible). I already tried a Diono RXT and while the seat bottom fits, the back is too wide.

it's been done

The previous owner of my car performed this modification to the car with OEM parts. I removed everything and kept all of the parts.

Also, do a search on RL, the full parts list to perform the swap is out there.

BTW I have the full buckets and with the seat far enough forward, my skinny 6 year old can still squeeze thru into the back. But in case of an accident, it'd be tough to extract her out of the back. So the non buckets would be almost a necessity for a backseat retrofit.

Thanks very much, I should have thought of RL. Thanks for the suggestion.

Haha. Rennlist is full of people ridiculing the idea and the notion of adding weight to a lightweight track car. Heck, if I'm going full on 2 seater, I'm spending a couple more bucks and getting a 570s.

I know the 997 series GT3s had child seat latchs welded in from the factory but not sure about the 997.2 or 991 series. Either way, I'd be wary but putting additional seats in a car that was imported as a 2 seater (for insurance purposes). GL and let us know what comes of it!
