Honestly, the new 997 looks too much like the interior of a lot of japanese cars. This attached interior looks good to me. This is the interior of a Gt2 for sale by RPM motorsports, my interior in my GT3 is identical.

Obviously you have to own a 996 to know the interior doesn't compare to the 997. Obviously I have never driven a 996, owned a porsche, driven a 997, or been in a porsche dealership.
I don't have to own a pinto to know it is a piece of ****.
Good luck with that depreciation, can't wait for the 997 GT3, the 996 mk II GT3 will be a nice memory as everyone focuses on the newer, superior vehicle. Heck of a car you have there btw.

rightttttt..Maybe for awhile, then as number run low and people figure out what has happened with the 997GT3, ZIP right back up and better.
That's my prediction.
And on a funny note.
2 guys from another forum have claimed they have ordered the 997GT3 with a BACK seat? for their kids? and the dealers are claiming the new car is ment to be a daily driver and not a track/streetcar??
Oh My Gawd.
I like the 996's door pannels, rear center console and dashboard better than the 997's. I prefer the 997's seats and its center control stack. The 996 interior's biggest negative is its CD/Cassette holder/cubby hole combo. It's just ugly and looks cheap. Other than that piece, I feel the 996 interior is nice quality.
I was close to buying a new 993 years ago but couldn't do it because the interior was over 10 years out of date & really bugged me, waited for the 996 instead and bought one of those. The exterior of the 996 was not as muscular as the 993, but I could live with it. Overall, the 996 appealed to me much more.
The 997 exterior is a great design, combining the best of the 993 & 996. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the interior IMO. The surfaces (while mostly higher quality) are just too flat. The 996 interior, while not perfect, has much more character. The worst parts on the 997 are the doors, center console & steering wheel. Fix those and you've got a great look.
I'll wait for the 998, maybe they'll get it right then.

...Last I checked the porshe that was the most raw was the 996 GT2. That is a hairy chested, raw porsche and of course depreciation hasn't hit that one right?
You can pick up 996 GT3 mk2's in the 80's now. You think when the 997 GT3 hits the street that won't be pushed down? If anything, the demand for the 997 GT3 will be far greater than it ever was for the 996 GT3 as that car will appeal to many more people and be a car that is easier to drive everyday due to the PASM. Don't tell me you think the 996 GT3 will outperform it in any fashion, especially on the track. You need to stop being delusional, just deal with it, the 996 GT3 was the greatest naturally aspirated 911 available. The 997 GT3 raised the bar. The 996 is obviously a fantastic car, the 997 GT3 is just better, in any category especially looks, interior, and performance. What else is there?
