God...I'm Luvin' the 997 GT3's New Interior

I am sure that SL has held it value lolX2
I'm trying to figure out where I said I "wished" I had a GT3. If I wanted a 996 GT3 I would go out and get one today. Honestly, I do want a 997 GT3. The car appeals to me, personally in many more ways than the 996 GT3 ever did. What helps is that the 997 GT3 came out much sooner in the body styles life span than the 996 GT3 did in the United States of course. Obviously I can't afford the 996 haha... so I will skip straight to the 997, the superior vehicle. Originally Posted by Vader13

About the SL, it won't hold its value like a 996 GT3. That is an impossibility due to the inherent type of vehicle it is and the number built. It is a completely different type of car with a different market. If you weren't able to understand that before making your comment then obviously you were just attempting a weak insult because you felt threatened with the truth of the 997 GT3 making the 996 GT3 OBSOLETE.
Whatever clown, apparently you have never driven a GT3 or you would not say such and ignorant comment. Without the appreciation for the GT3s linear heritage how can you fully appreciate the 997GT3. The 997GT3's have subtle upgrades that only a 996GT3 owner could really appreciate. Things that look "Cool" to you are actually fuctioning upgrades (or supposed to be) like the front and rear aero/cooling slits.
No one is impressed by people saying "I am going to buy a 997GT3"
Most here on THIS GT3/2 CGT forum obviously can afford the 997GT3.
We are waiting to see how it is, to see if the TC, PASM and sunroofs really don't suck. Some people are getting upgrades immediatly because that's what they do. Heck they might be dreaming for some TC and a little sun.
Some guys are pumping their chests and ordering them just because they are the new thing to have. Sounds like you are one. Some don't like the interior, that does not mean they are hating on the car and deserve to be called a hater on a new model. It's also in the nature of every car owner to lightly bash a newer model but most Porsche guys appreciate the brand for what it is regardless.
No one has 997GT3 envy, not yet.
Appreciate the GT3 or it will bite you in the ***.

Apparently you have trouble with reading and comprehension as I never said the 996 GT3 was a bad car or that I didn't like it. It WAS the best naturally aspirated 911. Would you like me to write this again so it can finally sink into your head?Originally Posted by Vader13

Clown? Just checking to see if you are female as you sound like you have PMS or an itchy tampon. I never said any of the bodywork was "cool" the reason I like the look of the 997 GT3 is due to the return to more of a classic 911 look. If you were such a porsche guy as you claim you would appreciate the heritage the 997 brings back. You are too caught up in trying to convince yourself and everyone how great the 996 gt3 mk II is that you don't even realize what a departure that design was.
Apparently you don't remember the controversy from the porsche faithful when the 996 was introduced. If anything, you rushed out to buy the "new" cool thing with the 996 as the truly hardcore were staying with their 993's.
Another thing, I am not trying to impress anyone, just getting your hands on a 997 GT3 is going to be difficult as my local dealership has 27 people on the list and it is growing. Hate to break it to you, the 996 GT3 never reached those kind of desireability levels before its release. The buzz for the 997 GT3 is substantially stronger.
You are waiting to see if a sunroof or traction control and PASM suck? Get off your *** and get to the dealership and check out a 997 to get an idea instead of making weak attempts at being a keyboard warrior.
As far as my experience with a 996 GT3, I have plenty, here are photos of my buddies in my driveway and the car has been driven the way it was designed to be plenty of times and I love the car:

I third that thought... And those bastards that designed the rear main center console made it stupidly time consuming to dissasemble the console for an SSK install. WTF? The 996 one already had like 10 billion fasteners and was way over-engineered. Did the 997 one really need 10 billion more?Originally Posted by Toothzilla
I second this thought.

997 raised the bar ? The jury is still out on that bucko...Originally Posted by sticky
You need to stop being delusional, just deal with it, the 996 GT3 was the greatest naturally aspirated 911 available. The 997 GT3 raised the bar. The 996 is obviously a fantastic car, the 997 GT3 is just better, in any category especially looks, interior, and performance. What else is there?
I am sure us 996 GT3 owner's would be very interested to hear your expertise on why you think the 997 variant is better...

If anything i feel the 997GT3 is less raw then its counterpart the 996, and has upgraded suspension and PASM to make the ride more comfortable while trying to retain the same handling feel no Originally Posted by rockitman

This of it this way, my Carrera GT has a removable top, navi, MP3 memory card music player with a kick *** sound system, and I drive to Vegas from San Diego with no problem. Regardless of those amenities, it's still an incredible sports car (and why Vegas, to track it, of course!).Originally Posted by iLLM3

I think the 997GT3 looks better than the 996GT3 both inside & out. I think if you already own a 996GT3 there's no real reason to take a potential $80,000 hit buying new, unless you want a more comfortable GT3 with Sat-Nav, TC, sunroof and the latest & greatest - but then the Turbo would be a better buy.

Yea i know exactly what your saying, they are very practical in terms of driveability and comfort as well as tearing up the track. But the GT3 was kind of a pure breed track car suppose to be uncomfortable, too stiff and so on no> I just feel they are getting more into ammentities and comfort and taking the extra length to develop better components to compensate which is a plus to some, but to hardcore enthusiasts i dont think so? Maybe im looking too much into it, love what both have to offer Originally Posted by fayence
