I don't know who does it, but maybe Todd at EVO has developed it. My point was that those that say it would somehow alter the drivability of the car are incorrect. The only difference a properly installed centrifuge blower would make is more power throughout the power band but would not change the power band.

Y'know, I asked this question, and got jumped on from all sides. I think people see power upgrades to the GT3 as some form of blasphemy. I suppose the key question is whethere a SC kit can be created that doesn't require a reduction in the rev limiter. Other than that, I can't see how a no-lag SC system, preserving the linear feel of the GT3 engine, assuming you don't grenade the thing, would fail to improve an already fantastic car.

You'll find that there are many here that post things that they have absolutley no experince with. If you are able to weed through such posts, you can often find helpful information.

I think the GT3 would be one of the most fun 911's to drive if you could supercharge it. Not that it isn't already fun. I would love to have another 1200 RPM to play with from my supercharged 996. I would personally rather go this route than a Gt2 if it is not extremely expensive. I think with that much power (570 HP?) and the lightweight GT3 you have a winning combo....

The only shop I know and trust that supercharges cars is TPC racing in Jessup, Maryland. But they do not have a kit for a Gt3. Anyone know anybody else that would even consider doing this mod?

There's this ragtag band of misfits out in Arizona, but I doubt anyone here has heard of them...

Try www.evoms.com.

They have a custom turbo setup for the GT3 they were testing for a specific customer recently, including reinforced bottomend.

I didn't know they were based out of Arizona. I'll give them a call.

It would be alot of fun, exactly what people said about the M3 and the S54 motor and FI, my M3 was alot of fun, high revving and compression with 500+ hp, it would def. be cool, but purists def. dont want to see that!

Hmm Purists i remember a certain group like that before...What were they called again?

Anyways do it and pioneer something people don't do, it would be awesome to see some 600+hp gt3 running around. Think about you'd be a very rare car, more rare than say an a ferrari enzo. And plus something you do with a 996 may carry onto the 997 gt3.

My 2¢

If you think somebody can double the HP of a stock Porsche engine just by slapping on a SC and not changing the engine internals then I've got a bridge to sell you...

I talked to EVO. They said they gave up trying to SC the car. Too many problems. They are working on a turbo system. The car will put out 550 hp at the crank. The only drawback. Redline gets reduced to 7400. They are working on leaving the redline at 8200. Turbo kicks in at 3400 rpm. Sounds a little high. Believe it or not, some guy with a Gt3 is having his car worked on right now at EVO. When it is complete, 900 hp. A narrow body, light weight 900 hp Porsche. Is that insane or what?
