Question GT2/GT3 Stock Spring Rates

Does anyone know the actual spring rates and specifications for the GT2 and GT3? I wonder if they are the same or if the GT3 came with firmer springs.

I was just speaking with Steve at Rennsport Systems in OR. We where talking about suspension and spring rates. He would know, I believe they are different. They set up P-cars for track and street. His phone: 503-244-0990

Good luck,

Daryl

Daryl,

Thanks for the suggestion. I spoke to Steve about this very subject 2 weeks ago. He did not know about the GT2 rates, but was in the know on the GT3 specs. I wish I could find some specific info on the spring rates for the two cars, but so far I have struck out.

Garrett, if I'm not mistaken, the GT3 uses linear springs while the GT2 uses progressive springs... therefore the rate on the GT2 is variable by definition according to its load.

I thought both had progressive in the rear and linear in the front. I am
considering stock springs with motons, but if the GT3 springs are rated higher, I may wish to try them first.

Garrett,

Steve mentioned that the OE GT3 fronts where progressive, don't recall on the rears. In addition huge diff in spring rates between fronts and rear. Recall: 350 front, 450-500 rear. That is why the rear can grip up to a limit then come around fast. We also spoke about Motons, maybe we can go in on a group purchase or something?
Do you live in the Portland, OR area? I am planning on driving down to have him corner balance / align and GIAC flash my GT3. He sounds like an outstanding guy. How's his work?

There's not much difference between the ROW and the NA markets when it comes to GT2/3 coilovers. The turbos, on the other hand, come with a different suspension for the NA market.
