CGT owners~

hi new to the forum, after driving my 996 GT2 for 2 years, i have been looking for a new ride, so i sold my GT2 and im looking for an upgrade.
I love Porsche, just like many of you guys, so im looking for a porsche vehcle to be my next ride.

heres the question, im not a total baller (unlike many of you guys here ) but i can afford a CGT altho i will be living not as luxuriuos as i would had before...lol

1) so, should i wait for the new 997 GT2? or put my bets at the CGT?
i have heard great comments on the CGT, however im aware that some *rumors* saying that the CGT is very difficult to drive...is that true?

2) how did you guys finance on the CGT? I havent actually contact my local porsche dealer yet...(is there a month payment option? )

3) is it possible to get a discount?

You probably need to drive a CGT to make that decision. If you like it as is, then buy it. There's not a huge aftermarket for performance, so the car is as it will be. A Turbo-based car is more modifiable, so are you the kind of guy who wants to be able to tweak your car as you go? If so, I'd say wait for the 997 GT2.

The CGT is a more timeless car, and will remain breathtaking long after the 997 GT2 has been eclipsed by the next generation GT2.

As for difficulty driving, most owners seem to feel pretty comfortable with their cars, although I suspect that the reason for that is that the performance envelope is so high they don't get out to the raggedy edge too often. When they do, it's pretty well accepted to be a hairy beast. If you're comfortable with a GT2, that's probably a good sign.

Discounts I think are irrelevant now, as no new CGTs are being made, so you're looking at the 2nd hand market. I don't keep my finger on the used CGT market (as I am apparently nowhere near the vicinity of baller status), but I'd guess you'd be looking in the mid-300s.

There are still new CGTs available here and there and there are heavy discounts to be had.

Yeah, there are couple still in the showrooms.

thnx man, my friend is trying to hook me up with a deal, but im still looking around for deals with lambos as well as they just look forever sexy

anyway, at the beginning, i do find my GT2 hard to drive (will i experience the same with the CGT?) anybody else on the forum with a GT2 find it hard to drive at first?

I love my GT, and I've tracked it a lot and it is a blast. Note, however, the other day it rained, and on my way to my destination, I easily slid into each sharp turn. Granted I did it on purpose, :-), but it was WAY easy to do so, and if you didn't expect it coming, you could get in trouble real quick. Respect every single time you drive it is crucial.

scary info...
im now scared to own a CGT lol..
i just had a ride in my frd's Gallardo its so nice~~
compared to my GT2, its slightly slower, but it sounds much better and attracts way more ppl..

Nothing sounds better than a Carrera GT.

If you want people to notice your car, the CGT is at the high end of the "hey, what's that?" scale (especially if it's yellow).

I had a 20 foot box truck chase me at 80 MPH in freeway traffic so the passenger could get a shot of my car with a cell phone camera. Will the Lambo do that?
