A few question, could we order the roll cage in white ? Does Porsche supply the A pillar bars as per the previous CS ?

Thanks for all the kind words everybody

I don't know if the roll cage can be ordered in white... it would look great on a white car, now that i think of it... the white cages in the 996 GT3 RS are amazing. so clean looking.

from the brochure, the front portion of the cage can be ordered separately from Porsche Motorsport. I'm curious how that would be mounted (i.e., if they'd need to punch holes thru the dashboard, etc etc).

cheers!

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have been following the discussion on the streetability of the 996 GT3/997 GT3. Now that someone actually owns a 997 GT3 could you comment on the quality of the ride in normal street driving. Is it a brittle, harsh ride as some have descibed the 996 GT3? Or firm, yet compliant. I live in Denver and have put down a deposit on one to be ordered when my turn comes up. Thanks, Bob.

Great photos, especially the two cars together. Glad to see you met up with Adam as well.

The rollcage looks to be a more practical design than the 996 GT3/GT2 one, with much better access to the rear through the passenger side. Is there only a horizontal bar on one side though? That'll make fitting harnesses for the passenger side harder.

In Australia the cages, Fire ext, 6pts belt etc comes un-fitted even tho the car is ordered as a CS from the factory. I will have the cage painted in white prior installing

I doubt that the front portion of the cage would need to be bolted onto the dash. Looking per 996GT3RS here in OZ, looks like its bolted onto the floor.

Tried to upload some pics but wouldnt work
