Hypothetical Question - CGT straight line performance against bikes?
Hypothetical Question - CGT straight line performance against bikes?
Hi,
Im Sam from Qatar and I got a question I want to ask any CGT owners here. (This
situation is hypothetial BTW)
Can a carrera gt hang with sport bikes for roughly 1 km first starting at from a stop,
then 60 kph and then 100 kph.
The bikes are a 06 1000rr with a chip/full race exhasut ~170hp to the wheels, a 1100 black
bird - stock, and 06 600rr - chip/exhast/lowered.
Do the bikes have a chance?

Depends largely on the riders, but that said, unless said riders are completely useless, the bikes will nuke and pave a CGT. Especially from a standing stop and up to relatively low speeds.
The CGT has a power to weight ratio of around 5 pounds per horsepower. A tuned 1000 sport bike is more to the tune of 2.5 pounds per horsepower. Not even remotely close.
Where the CGT can kick some is on the high end where aerodynamics take a hand. Were one to do a 70-140 mph run or so, or even higher, it'd be a closer race, but I still don't know that I'd put money on the CGT.

I have taken out a 1000RR from a 100mph roll to 180+mph in my CGT...as for 0-60...not a chance...on the other hand a pulled a Hayagussa from a 40mph..but that was in my turbo..a 600RR is not a big challenge...I did a 30mph to 130mph with a 600RR and pulled away from him pretty good
Here is a Video of my turbo against a modded 1200RR (he claimed 186RWHP) from a 50-180mph roll...

The last run was a 1.7bar the ones prior where at 1.4bar

Not sure about a CGT versus a bike, but I did beat a Suzuki GSXR 1000 in my modified Ford GT. Not sure if the bike was stock, or not. He had an aftermarket pipe, but not sure about anything else. Race was from about 50mph to about 160mph, and beat him by a pretty decisive distance. But that was just 1 case, against 1 rider. It may have been more interesting to go from a lower speed roll, or from a stop.
