Can someone give me the REAL story on GT3-RS avaliability?
Can someone give me the REAL story on GT3-RS avaliability?
I've been on my dealer for the last month or so to get me the info on this car. I'm getting tired of the runaround BS that is being spewed my way. Will this car be avaliable for purchase anywhere in the spring? Can you just order a new one like a normal GT3?
Thanks for any info you can give me. I'm sure it will be more valuable than what I've been shovelled lately.

That one sentence has more value than my recent inquiries. Thank you getting to the point. I really hope these cars become avaliable.
2nd the respose re posted by Legend. Porsche has yet to allocate, or for that matter announce pricing on the RS. from the limited information we know so far, the RS will be built in ultra-low quantities, low enough that it is possible that not every dealer will ever get one, at least the 1st year. Unless you must absolutely have the ultimate track day car, I would strongly reccomend running by your favorite Porsche center and leaving a deposit for a "regular" GT3, before that is impossible to get.
Ditto, I've heard that porsche has not released offical US allocation numbers, nor have they release the offical MSRP. Most rumors have the price pegged at $126,000 MSRP with no sunroof
Local dealer here said that I could expect to take delivery of the RS sometime in early September 2007, but that's still pure speculation at this point, nothing firm.

Customers have already started receiving their RS's in europe, why the 10 month delay for the USA?
$126k for standard seats, no lightweight glass or roll cage-I don't get it!

Not sure about the delay, but they've been saying March 2007 all along, but in the last few weeks they've changed their tune to September 2007 for the US allocations, don't know why. Hopefully they're trying to get the cage, window, and seats approved for sale in the US
Ultimately you're paying the premium for the outlandish colors (which I love) , the wider butt (which I love even more) and for a little exclusivity, although that's really never been a problem with the GT3. Because the car will be rare, it promises to bring higher resale values in the future...just like the GT2 and CGT

well, assuming that all allocations not yet entered into the system are sold that would leave only 48 cars unspoken for. there are a total of 379 customer ordered cars in various stages of production so a total of around 500 cars (including those not yet ordered) for the entire model year, which is not very many.
