I have a 2004 GT3 with A/C delete. I have seen one other that was turned into a race car when new, and have heard of another although not confirmed. The A/C delete cars have round twist ***** for fan, distribution, and heat, instead of the screen with the bottons on the side. Has anyone else seen one of these A/C delete cars? They appear to be quite uncommon, I am trying to figure out just how uncommon they are, I have yet to see another one for sale ever an I look at the adds every day online.

 

I have heard of a few and seen pics but never personally seen one.

 

Here in europe the AC was an (free) option, so most people went for it, I know the 996 GT3 tested in Top Gear season 3, episode 1 has no AC, just the turning *****. (Good test btw!)

Here it is, an early 2004 with option 574 (air conditioning not desired). If anyone owns or know someone with a car without A/C let me know, Iam curious how hard no A/C cars are to find.

The car they tests got no AC.

 

That is correct, in addition the yellow car driven by Tiff Needel that is racing a helicopter around a circut is a club sport without a/c. Its odd, reviewing the adds on www.mobile.de and www.autoscout24.de you can find 50+ GT3 cars and all have a/c based on the interior photos, description, or the engine compartment photos. It seems between 1 in 40 or so have no a/c at least in europe. Before I bought my car, I had only heard rumors of a red GT3 without air floating around the northwest. When I saw it come up for sale I was willing to pay any amount of $$$ over realistic retail to have a car without the air and climate control. I doubt if anyone else cares either way.

 

A friend of mine has a Club Sport version in Zanzibar Red with the same ***** shown in the pics above. Its a RoW car.

 

Only a Yo Yo like you would want no AC. Fish bowl in the winter Hot as hell in the summer.

I will be rolling around you on the track with my windows up and a sweatshirt on. In July. Air blowing cold at 8500 RPM's in total comfort.

You will be soiling your new nomex seats with sticky sweat from your ***.

In reality it is pretty cool. The no console and the VW temp controls look like they belong in your old cup car.

Thats it, not one six speed member in North America has a non A/C 996 GT3. I though for sure this board would flush them out.
