Mike (La Jolla) is infamous around these parts
More detail about 'delete wing' on 997GT3

I have a 2003 996TT X50, which has not proven to be reliable enough to track monthly at Southern California DE’s. Worst, Porsche is telling me that ANY tracking in the Turbo is ‘abusive driving’. This would be hard to claim on a GT3 although I suspect they will try. I have found the Turbo to be numb on the track and I can’t keep up with the Elise’s in the corners. This is either from the massive weight of the thing, the AWD or both. I’m trying to figure out what to get as a replacement and the 997GT3 is an option. I do not agree that the 997TT is as fast on a track as a 997GT3. If it isn’t, it is darn close. I find the 997TT to be unimpressive, at best. It needed to be lighter and have more HP. I would be better off holding on to the X50 – the 997TT has no GOTTAHAVE features.

This would be my daily driver, and I find the massive wing of the 997GT3 to be hideous. It looks like something a teenager would put on the back of his car to **** off the parents. Or maybe an art project that went horribly wrong?

Unfortunately, if you search on this board, there are examples of where a GT3 that was used on the track had their warranty void...
