Evo shrt shft kit or B&M?

Hey fella's

Does anyone have any experience with the evo shrt shft kit?

I had a B&M in my 996 TT and it was real notchy. Wanted to see if the evo is smoother.
Thanks

Ssk

I had the B&M SSK installed on my previous 996 C2 and 996 TT and liked the way it shortened the throws but it was a bit notchy. On the GT3, the shift mechanism has such a nice, slick feel that I did not install so as to not alter the sensation. I did add an EVO billet shift link to replace the plastic unit. I've driven a GT700 GT2 w/ the SSK that seemed appropriate for the car given the power- more of a big toggle switch feel. If you have not done so, try the GT3 stock shifter out. It just feels right as is IMO.

The GT3 shift is shorter than the stock TT's to begin with. I would start with the EVO billet shift link. That tightened things up quite a bit w/o the heavy notchy feel of the SSK. If that doesn't do it for you then you can try the ssk....I have a how to for the shift link install on my dyi link below my sig....

Thanks for Rockitman's endorsement of the EVO billet shift link I had installed and at the same time installed the B&M SSK. Shifts are now short and tight. It does have a notchier feel but you get used to it quickly. Overall, I like the new feel to it.

Adrift is infamous around these parts
Evo is a lot softer (and longer) than B&M, from my previous experiences. But I like the feel of the B&M.
