No Alcantara Wheel on the U.S. RS?

When ordering the RS, code XPA (Thicker Steering Wheel-Leather)automatically comes up and adds itself to the Pro Forma. My dealer thinks this may be an automatic default for US bound cars. Can anyone confirm that the Alcantara wheel is available on U.S. bound cars? Could this be a "Full Leather" thing as I have indeed ordered code 78 (Full Leather)?

78 does not effect the steering wheel... i don't know why you have to order XPA though...

The gt3 alcantara wheel is much thiner than the "thicker wheel" on the 996gt3.

You sure mowblowgo? My pro forma invoice does not show the thicker wheel and I have full leather ordered. My car is scheduled for production already, so I think by now, everything will be finalized. I will double check my order when I get a chance to drop by the dealer.

I ordered the thicker wheel also. I'm hoping it comes with the yellow stripe on top.

the steering wheel issue had ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with what interior option you have.

full leather for standard int. you have these choices of steering wheel, all free of charge.

if you say nothing, it should come with alcantara str wheel. there's only one size.

if you pick XPA: leather wheel with thicker rim.

410 (i think) is leather wheel with thinner rim.

the only wheel that wipp have yellow strip at 12 oclock will be the alcantara.

Whichever I get is fine. I can see the pros and cons of both. Alcantara feels very nice when new and would probably have been my choice had I noticed the code in time. The smooth leather will hold up better.

Does anyone feel that Alcantara offers too much grip? Especially with gloves? It's nice in a rally car with all the bumps and jumps but I prefer leather on a road car.
