Evan,
what if i know 4 people are getting those so-called VIP car. i'm not doubting what u've been told. i just don't trust what they say anymore. decision can be made anytime. word that u want or don't want to hear can be easily told. my point is only time will tell.

btw, i wish they keep their word this time.

Evan
Actually Newport Beach Porshce has delivered 1 VIP cars already and has been told a second is forthcoming. They were allocated 5 cars, but will be delivering and getting full profit on 7! They were called by PMNA and told of the additional two VIP cars, just before the first one was delivered to the dealer. They were not involved in the order, only the final delivery for the customer. The second car is still coming.

As far as 08 cars go there is no official information - just specutation.

Like Arling said, words can change...but no 2008s and for 2007, 229 + 30 VIP cars. I know of one person that is getting a VIP car. Cheers!

what the hell is a VIP rs ? any different options or is it just a further continuation of the rs's ? will they have different chassis numbers ? if there is any difference, i'm sure the owners of the original 229 will have something to say about it !

VIP cars are the same RS the rest of us get. They just get one, when others could not. With Porsche, as in many areas in life, if you know the right people you can get things done. They are fortunate to be in that position.

It looks like it is all pure speculation right now. Evan, what are you looking to do? Worth it to pay a premium for a car that guarantees you a new purchase for an RS? Not $50k by any means, but less... What is your take? I looked at your 02' TT a few years ago.

my local Porsche dealership said that they wont be able to sell the RS. they said that you can only buy them from Porsche directly or something like that. I believed him cause he's been selling Porsches for over 20 years but i'm still skeptical

Your dealer had no idea what he is talking about.

I personally know who is getting number 230 and he was allowed to get a different color scheme. That is a fact.

pretty sad if u ask me if that's what he said. are they getting any RS allocation? if they didn't maybe he meant Porsche didn't give the dealer any allocation which is the case for many smaller dealerships.

Gt3

I've been following this thread and wondering what motivates the speculation. As far as I've seen over the last 2-3 weeks, there are GT3 RS vehicles available now - sitting on dealers lots. Why would we want Porsche to make any more now. Think about how exclusive this car is currently (Roughly 260 cars). Compared to the new M3, which BMW sold at least 50,000 of on their last generation run, the GT3 and GT3 RS production is like a hiccup. I hope that Porsche keeps it that way.

If Porsche makes a few hundred more cars, it's still going to be exclusive. They still made way more CGT's than we are talking about this car. My dealer's district rep is still confirming that there will be more 08's coming. It's very hush hush because Porsche doesn't want to see any attrition on there existing GT3 orders. I know this will be debated until we actually here Porsche officially announce it, but so what. That's what this forum is about....a place to have these sorts of conversations. It can only happen among enthusiasts like us.
