Alcantara or Leather

Probably not a new question, just a new member. What is the consesus for a GT3 steering wheel; Alcantara or leather? Most of the driving will be on the street.

I don't think there is consensus, but I like my Alcantara wheel. For street use, it is holding up better than expected. I think it is better in hot climates if you have sweaty palms since the factory leather steering wheels are essentially plastic-coated these days for long life.

I love my GT3 Alcantara wheel. I always love Alcantara in any sports car steering wheel. Even if it's only for the street, it still gives you that feel . . .

Alcantara would be my choice. If you're worried about maintaining it, either wear gloves while driving, or periodically clean it with Autoglym Interior cleaner.

if your going with alcantara, might as well get the RS version so it will be alittle thicker.

RS wheel same as the GT3, no difference. Wait! I forgot the yellow stripe. That's all.

Gotta chime in: leather! There is no substitute.

I really don't understand why alcantara is so popular.........

I guess it's different than the "look" of leather. I'd imagine leather is much more durable and user-friendly. I just like to contrast.

I kept mine Alcantara. I saw both the leather and alcantara and the alcantara looks and feels much better.

alcantara ages quicker too, especially in the summer with sweaty palms, the sweat sips in and makes it a shade whiter
