Cupholders in 997 GT3?

Ok, don't kill me, but as a Starbucks addict, I have to ask -- are there no cupholders in the 997 GT3? According to the comparo feature on porscheusa.com, it looks like no.

Mine has them. They look just like the 997 cupholders.

I just got in to work and I definitely made the run to Starbucks. The GT3 not only has cupholders, but they are probably the best enginered cup holders that I have ever used - infinitely adjustable, smooth operation. And oh yeah, don't hit any bumps in the road or else you'll be explaining to the women at work how you got that wet spot.

I hear the GT3 has a special 3rd cupholder somewhere hidden in dash? Something but it only pops out when you hit redline?

Use it for my Starbucks everyday! They are the best enignered ones ever and the center closes back in and leaves the holders out its neat!

Great news, thanks guys. Sad that this is one of my only questions about the GT3, huh?

You do get cupholders, but you don't get homelink. I'm currently in the process of rigging up garage door openers that will work with switches in the area that should have the home link. Will post when I get it operational.

Sasportas,

Have you figured out the part # for the Homelink buttons in the overhead light console? Since the 997's have the Homelink as an option there has to be a coverplate with the buttons installed which might include the switch and transmitter.

That's a good question. I would like the answer to that too.

The answer is that my dealer just ordered one of the switches for me. When I get it this week I'll post the part #. I'm only getting the switch, not the transmitter (apparently the transmitter goes in the front bumper). Then I'll simply wire my key chain garage door opener to this switch. I did that on my 996 and use a defroster switch and it worked perfectly.

Any luck with the Homelink install?
