997 GT3 vs. 997 GT3 RS

I know the GT3 RS is lighter than the GT3, but what about options? Can you get navigation in a GT3 RS? Are the sound systems the same? What options can you get in the GT3 that you can't get in a GT3 RS or vice versa?

Secondly, what exactly makes the GT3 RS lighter than the GT3.

Thanks in advance!

Are you telling me the sunroof is standard on the GT3? I thought neither car came with a sunroof. How much of a weight difference is there when both cars are selected with no sunroof?

As for the sound package, is it not available on the GT3 RS or is it just standard? If it's not available, what kind of sound system does the GT3 RS have and how does it compare to the GT3's.

Do you have the links to the tests? How could the GT3 be faster than the GT3 RS?

Narrower body = more aerodynamic

No real demonstable difference in performance, but early reports allude to the two cars driving differently, the RS being more stable and easier to drive. Too early to tell though whether those reports are placebo or real. I am very interested in learning about this, and finding out about any improvements in rear suspension geometry through the RS-specific modified components. Information in this regard is sketchy.

As for the wing, widebody, skittle-colors, I don't crave the RS. . . but the lack of a sunroof and chassis improvements leave me interested in the car.

Since you are in UAE, presumably you don't get a decontented RS as we get in the US. A proper RS with the seats/roll bar/plastic window would be my pick, but that has to be retrofit her in the US somewhat tarnishing the desirabilty of the RS (at least for me).

You can get pretty much nearly everything on the RS that's available for the GT3. The GT3 comes standard with Sports Seats. The Racing Bucket Seats are an option but come as standard when you choose the ClubSport package. The RS comes standard with the Racing Buckets.

Sunroof is optional on the ROW GT3 and I've heard of a couple ordered with it. The RS, to my knowledge, doesn't come with a Sunroof.

The Sound system is the same for both. You can order the PCM or the optional Sound System on both as well.

so what's the main thing that makes people go with the GT3 RS rather the GT3?

In the US, the advantages are limited to exclusivity, widebody, wing, no sunroof, and perhaps some subtleties in the suspension that haven't been completely figured out.

But of those, it's the exclusivity of the RS badge that is driving sales IMHO.
