Thinking about buying the Redline Carrera GT
Hey guys,
im thinking about buying the redline carrera gt
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...99676231QQrdZ1
The car has what appears to be pretty minor damage but how much do you think it will realistally cost to fix? i was guessing somewhere around 50-60k
I know the resale value will not be good so I am planning on keeping it for a long while
lets say i pay 200k for the car and spend 60k to fx it.....what are you opinons on this??

Doesnt make sense, why pay 260 for a fixed up wrecked one when for 20-30 grand more get a mint one?

??? with a slavage title??? Can't even begin to think of a reason that would make sense . . . And if it could be repaired for $60k it wouldn't have a salvage title. It would have been repaired, and would be for sale with a clear title and an interesting story . . .
335_II, That would probably be the worst business decision that you would ever make. That machine would be a money pit and will drain you man. Buy a good used no story machine and call it a day. I certainly hope that you are listening to us and stay the Hell away from that car. It may look good now until you get it in your stable and have racked up $150,000.00 in repairs and have $350,000.00 invested.. It's your money though, good luck with your decision.. Best Regards, Kenny

thank you for your honest opinion....i guesss im not even going to think about it anymore
based on the pictures it does not look like $60k damage. however, usually to declare a salvage title you have to have about 70-80% damage based on the current retail value. so even though it does not look bad my guess is there is well over $60k in damages...
i wonder how much this car is to insure...
