sasportas has a spectacular aura aboutsasportas has a spectacular aura about
996 GT3 seats

I'm doing the same install in my car. Does the stock seat belt go through both the shoulder hole in the seat as well as the hole for the lap belt? Does it make sense buying an extra seat belt receptacle for the GT3 seats to make the install easier?

I'm in the midst of putting in the tequipment rollbar and GT3 seats right now. Definitely get extra seatbelt recepticles (about $50 a piece). I just ordered them. Otherwise you have to undo half the wiring harness under the existing seats to use the old ones ... doable, but a PITA. Did not notice that you don't need to have the seat belt warning disabled when new seats are in place (without the wiring). However you will have to have the airbag warning light disabled.

I put the GT3 seats without the stock recepticles(yet) and did not need to have the seat belt warning disabled.

if you exceed 15mph while seat belt is not buckled you will get an annoying warning sound. it sucks to have it on during a track session

Sure does. An easy way if you have the stock recepticles still, is to just by an extra male end, and stick it in while on track with the 6-points.

But still, and maybe its 997 GT3 specific, I put in Euro GT3 seats, and the seat belt warning does not come on at all, no matter what speed. I did not need to have it disabled by the dealer, nor did I have to plug the wires in from the stock recepticles. Now I will have to have the thorax airbags disabled so the airbag light goes off... so still a trip to the dealer
