The perfect rev-matched heel-toe downshift brings a certain satisfaction that only a true car nut could understand.

Wow, those pedals look very sensitive! Also it looks like hes blipping the gas before engaging the clutch

Maybe it just seems wierd since I cant feel whats going on there.

vtgts300kw is infamous around these parts
does it seem like hes riding the clutch a little rufmd on the upshifts?

or is that just the pedal?

and yea it does seem like hes blipping before the clutch is engaged? although the clutch travel could just be ultra sensitive.

It seems this way at first glance but obviously can't be the case because blipping the throttle with the clutch out would = accelerating which is the last thing anyone would do while braking for a corner. I think for 2 reasons it plays this trick, mainly I think the sound is a little delayed from the picture, so you get the sensation that he's blipping as you see his foot engaging. The other reason is because it's hard to watch both his left foot and right at the same time, well at least for me!

RufMD, you're right, he's no Rohrl but he ain't bad! I'm jealous that you get to make vehicular love to those pedals whenever you please.

What is he doing at ~2:20 in the video when he's on the brake and rapidly depresses the clutch repeatedly without any throttle? It looks like he was debating downshifting but decided against it...? I didn't notice any change in engine noise so I don't think he downshifted without the throttle with the intention of using the clutch to help him brake - I just thought that was strange.

EDIT: On second thought it kind of sounds like he did downshift then but it's difficult to tell at such low revs.

Just a hunch....but do you think his feet, ankles and calves are sore after a while?

How do you practice that? I can't see WR being a "tap dancer"! Just years of driving I guess.

Walter Rorhl is truly the master and his foot work shows his artistry... Man that is amazing!!! Doesn't anybody else find it interesting that those people are running around in front of that missle doing 90+ m.p.h.?
