04 GT3 trade-in value?

we're currently leasing a 04 GT3, bought it brand new had it since april '04 and it currently only has 117xx miles. we're trying to work a deal out and trade it in for a 997 turbo but the dealer is saying the value of the car is only $65k and that we still have to pay $12k which is stupid IMO for owing $77k. the sticker on the turbo is only $133,xxx and the reason i say only is because when we got the GT3 it was $118,xxx. not too far apart from the turbo. is an '04 GT3 with only 117xx miles really worth $65k? it's in good condition, even has PCCBs and some other minor options. the paint is perfect, no scratches, no accidents and is basically still new for a 3 year old car. shouldn't we not pay anything extra?...meaning do we REALLY have to pay $12k? that's like killing it.

i checked the kelley blue book and it said $66k for fair condition and $72k for good condition and i would say that it's in good condition. do the 996 GT3 values really drop this much? i was expecting more like high $70k to low $80k

and sorry for the poorly written questioning and statements, im sort of annoyed and angry at this point.

IMO worth mid 70's +/- on color and condition private party, a little more from a Porsche store.

I don't know if you get to offset sales taxes if you trade it but I think the dealer is in the ballpark. I know dealers were wholesaling them in the low 70's a few months back.

well here can be one solution. the dealer where we plan from getting the turbo is actually not the same dealer where we got the GT3 from so we're trying to reach our salesperson from the dealer where we got the GT3 and see if he can do a dealer trade or something, maybe get us a better deal since we've gotten 2 porsches from him

Post some pics and details, GT3's are well appreciated here and you may find an interested party and at least some additional insight on the market.

04 GT3/117xx miles
Guards Red/Black Interior
Red Stitching
Red Seatbelts
PCCBs

pretty much it along with the rest of the standard GT3 equipment.

the sales rep we are dealing with just gave me a call and said it doesn't matter if it has the ceramics or not, the value would be the same; is that true?

The ceramics are a touchy subject, some really like them for the track, but they are overkill for a street driven car and can be very expensive to maintain.

I have seen a few at 70K in independent dealerships, with the 7GT3 and the new RS the prices are bound to drop. They made to may 6Gt3's or them not to.

private mkt GT3's are changing hands around 75k.
red is not very popular.
dealers obviously want to get some profit, so they will offer you below 70k for sure.

try to sell it yourself.

yeah i think we are just going to keep the GT3 til the lease is up (april '08) and get the turbo anyway. much easier and less trouble....

oh and our sales rep bumped it up to $68k which seems more like it....

Why would you trade it in. You should get over $75k for it if marketed properly.

Rockville Porsche(about 30 mins drive from me) has one Red GT3 with exact same options as yours but 05 model and 10k miles on the clock. Asking 84. They are willing to make a deal at 80. I don't know how being an 04 and 05 makes a difference in price but that car look awesome!

They appraised my M3 only 23 so I walked out.
